Job description

The Senior Network Reliability Engineer is a technical leader responsible for driving complex projects, mentoring junior engineers, and leading efforts to scale and stabilize our network. This role requires advanced knowledge of routing, switching, and network design principles, with a focus on reliability engineering and service provider operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership:
    • Mentor and support Tier 1 engineers on escalations and project work.
    • Serve as a technical escalation point for complex troubleshooting scenarios.
  • Core/Transport Engineering:
    • Manage IPv4/IPv6 address space and maintain IPAM systems.
    • Contribute to the design and deployment of core and transport network projects.
    • Ensure network changes adhere to best practices for resiliency and performance.
  • Performance & Reliability:
    • Participate in capacity planning, traffic engineering, and forecasting.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration:
    • Work with Infrastructure and Architecture teams on network expansion and upgrades.
    • Support Sales Engineering on advanced enterprise/E-Rate service designs.
  • Documentation & Process:
    • Maintain and improve network diagrams, SOPs, and configuration templates.
    • Lead post-mortem reviews for incidents to drive root cause analysis and long-term fixes.
  • Required Skills:
    • JNCIP-SP certification required.
    • 5+ years of experience in service provider networks.
    • Strong background in BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, VPLS, and traffic engineering.
    • Familiarity with Juniper, Microtik, Adtran, and ADVA hardware and software.
  • Preferred Experience:
    • Experience with network automation.
    • Experience with packet capture, analysis, and performance tuning.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
    • Ability to work on cross-functional initiatives and lead meetings with stakeholders
