Job description

The Sales Manager is responsible for all sales management activities, including creating, monitoring, evaluating, and implementing sales strategies to increase sales volume and average ticket prices. This role has direct oversight over the sales team, sales volume, increasing market share, and the achievement of our sales goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Achieving the budgeted sales and gross margin dollars outlined in the company plan by
  1. assisting the Dispatch Team Leaders to ensure sales focused and technician-generated leads are set,
  1. supporting marketing efforts that yield the budgeted number of service calls and maintenance calls,
  1. coaching the salespeople to close on technician generated and marketed leads and maintain average sale amounts according to goals.
  1. own all rehash and inside sales coordination and execution.
  1. supporting sales practices and building out best practices and coaching of all technicians, as required.
  • Communicating and monitoring our sales goals to the company.
  • Support marketing efforts to include grassroots marketing, social media marketing, and other focuses are required.
  • Working closely with the Service Managers and General Managers and other Leaders to coordinate sales and production to achieve the budgeted levels of production.
  • Working with the Service Managers and General Managers and other Leaders to ensure salespeople & technicians are being dispatched effectively.
  • Assisting salespeople & technicians with issues while in the field, to include with all aspects of closing sales opportunities as needed or supporting technical items within the field systems.
  • Ensuring that all sales team members always represent the company professionally, are committed to the 100% satisfaction of the company’s clients, as well as showing a positive team spirit in all dealings with other team members.
  • Conducting sales meetings on a set cadence.
  • Maximizing lead opportunities and retaining and growing the Maintenance Membership client base.
  • Performing clerical duties associated with, but not limited to, booking incoming calls, qualifying sales leads, and resolving client concerns.
  • Ensuring that, if the replacement business is slow, make outbound calls to generate leads and rehash.
  • Support and implement safety plans through managing individual department safety scores and other safety program requirements.
  • Carrying out additional duties by senior leadership.

Supervisor Responsibilities of this Role

Oversees the Sales Technician function. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organization policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include staff selection, establishing expectations/goals, employee development, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding, and resolving employee concerns.

  • Directly responsible for the teams in the respective area.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assisting, retention, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Provides ongoing training to applicable staff to develop and encourage their technical and operational performance.
  • Meets with appropriate staff on a timely basis for performance evaluations and communication of company goals.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • 4+ years of sales experience
  • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Thorough understanding of accounting and finance as it relates to the HVAC field
  • HVAC/Plumbing/Electrical industry-specific experience preferred
  • 2 years of management experience
