Job description

Job Description: Senior ServiceNow Developer
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior ServiceNow Developer to lead the design, development, and implementation of solutions on our ServiceNow platform. In this high-level role, you will act as a technical champion, translating complex business requirements into robust, scalable, and efficient ServiceNow solutions.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams, and stakeholders to deliver exceptional user experiences across IT Service Management (ITSM), Customer Service Management (CSM), and custom applications (App Engine). The ideal candidate is a platform expert who possesses strong software development fundamentals, excellent problem-solving skills, and a proven track record of delivering successful ServiceNow implementations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Platform Development & Customization
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy clean, maintainable, and efficient code on the ServiceNow platform.
  • Configure and customize core ServiceNow applications, including ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, and CSM, while adhering to out-of-the-box (OOTB) best practices.
  • Develop custom applications using ServiceNow App Engine, ServiceNow Studio, and Flow Designer.
  • Write robust client-side and server-side JavaScript, including Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, UI Actions, Script Includes, and UI Pages.
2. Governance, Upgrades, & Best Practices
  • Participate in platform upgrades, performing patch testing, clone-backs, and managing update sets with rigorous quality assurance and conflict resolution.
  • Document technical designs, architecture diagrams, system configurations, and support playbooks.
3. Leadership & Mentorship
  • Act as a technical subject matter expert (SME)
  • Collaborate with Product Owners and Business Analysts to evaluate feasibility, estimate effort (story pointing), and plan sprints in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Stay current with the latest ServiceNow releases, features, and industry trends to proactively recommend platform improvements.
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Proven Track Record: Experience leading or playing a principal role in at least two major end-to-end ServiceNow implementations or platform migrations.
Technical Skills & Competencies
  • ServiceNow Core Capabilities:
  • Flow Designer, Workflow Engine, and Integration Hub.
  • Service Catalog, Knowledge Management, and Service Portal.
  • Methodologies: Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologies and ITIL framework.
Certifications
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) (Required)
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) (Required)
  • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) in one or more of the following:
  • IT Service Management (ITSM) (preferred)
  • IT Operations Management (ITOM - Discovery, Service Mapping)
  • Customer Service Management (CSM)
