* Define frontend architecture, reusable component libraries, routing, state-management, form-validation, and error-handling standards.
* Build intuitive interfaces for document ingestion, metadata capture, multi-echelon review, concurrence and non-concurrence decisions, access requests, repository search, and administrative management.
* Implement complex workflow experiences that clearly represent package status, approval gates, required comments, validation rules, and exception paths.
* Optimize rendering, bundle size, network usage, and client-side behavior to meet performance objectives for directory lookups, repository searches, and mission workflows.
* Secure Integration and Identity
* Integrate frontend applications with secure REST or GraphQL APIs, identity services, document repositories, notification services, and audit capabilities.
* Implement role- and attribute-aware user experiences consistent with Attribute-Based Access Control, least privilege, and Zero Trust principles.
* Support DISA PKI and mutual TLS authentication flows, session handling, authorization failures, sanitized error states, and secure deep-link behavior.
* Ensure protected document names, metadata, file paths, contact details, and other sensitive information are not exposed to unauthorized or unauthenticated users.
* Apply secure coding practices for input validation, output encoding, dependency management, secrets handling, and mitigation of common web vulnerabilities.
* Quality Engineering and DevSecOps
* Develop unit, component, integration, accessibility, and end-to-end tests using appropriate modern testing frameworks.
* Participate in peer reviews, architecture discussions, threat modeling, vulnerability remediation, and release-readiness activities.
* Build and maintain automated quality gates in CI/CD pipelines, including linting, static analysis, dependency scanning, test execution, and production build validation.
* Troubleshoot complex browser, authentication, API, performance, and environment-specific defects across development, test, staging, and production environments.
* Create technical designs, interface specifications, runbooks, engineering standards, and support documentation needed for secure operations and RMF evidence.
* Technical Leadership and Consulting
* Operate with significant autonomy on complex assignments while aligning technical decisions with customer mission, security, schedule, and maintainability needs.
* Translate operational requirements and UX concepts into implementation plans, technical tasks, acceptance criteria, and delivery estimates.
* Mentor less-experienced engineers, establish development conventions, and provide actionable code-review feedback.
* Communicate technical risks, tradeoffs, dependencies, and recommendations clearly to engineering teams and government stakeholders.
* Contribute to Agile planning, demonstrations, retrospectives, backlog refinement, and continuous improvement of engineering practices.
