Job description

Department: Clinical
The Senior Behavior Therapist is responsible for working directly with clients providing Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) therapy. This person will also work with Behavior Therapists as a mentor onboarding new Behavior Therapists onto cases. Senior Behavior Therapists may be required to support administrative tasks when required. The Senior Behavior Therapist is responsible for the following duties:

Reporting Relationship
The Senior Behavior Therapist may be reporting directly to the Case Manager, Clinical Supervisor, Directors and or Executive Directors.


Education and Professional Certifications

  • High School Diploma required
  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Behavioral Science, Psychology, or related field preferred
  • CPR or BLS certification required (must be current)
  • Registered Behavior Technician credential (RBT) required


Mandatory Job Requirements

  • Active RBT certification, with maintained 5% supervision monthly
  • Initiate RBT supervision forms at the start of each supervised session
  • Initiate seeking supervision by emailing Supervisors and ccโ€™ing the RBT email address at rbt@cs4hope.com
  • Complete on-going training to support job competency
  • Exceptions: Vacation/sick time, medical leave, client/company cancellations (including service holds and gaps where therapistโ€™s schedule/roster is being updated
  • Flexibility in availability to ensure direct service hours are met (i.e., afternoon availability)
  • Maintain Therapist Evaluation Form (TEF) scores averaging 2.5 and above monthly

Preferred Job Requirements

  • 2-yearsโ€™ experience providing ABA therapy, or related experience
  • Experience with utilization of Speech Generated Devices
  • Experience with varying intensities of maladaptive behaviors
  • Experience across all ages and scopes of behavior

Physical Job Requirements

  • Body positions: sitting, standing, and kneeling
  • Body movements: walking, running, bending, twisting. lifting
  • Ability to run (in the event the client elopes/or leaves the area)
  • Block physical aggression (when needed)
  • Body senses: the ability to see, hear, and speak clearly and articulately are required.

Essential Job Functions, Duties, and Tasks


Administrative

  • Render and Lock schedule according to policy.
  • Fulfill 100% of scheduled session on a weekly/monthly basis
  • Comply with Audit Department regulations
  • Respond to all communications within 24 hours
  • Provide a minimum of 2-week notice for any vacation requests for approval with appropriate paperwork
  • Confirm schedule accuracy at the start of each week
  • Complete source documentation in the form of Ensora data and SOAP notes, for every rendered session on NPA, by set due date
  • Comply with schedule change/cancellation formats and procedure
  • Complete all assigned tasks on time (to be determined per assignment)
  • Remain HIPAA (The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) compliant ensuring all client files are protected including text messages, e-mails and phone conversations
  • Attend all Creative Solutions for Hope companywide and position specific trainings
  • Communicate any policy/protocol related issues immediately to Human Resources department at: HR@cs4hope.com
  • Communicate any Information and Technology (โ€œITโ€) issues that would hinder the ability to perform work duties to IT Department at: support@cs4hope.com
  • Fluent in current policies and procedures
  • Guide Behavior Therapist through administrative questions and concerns when applicable and when requested

Clinical

  • Take anecdotal data (ABC Data) on new and existing behaviors
  • Generalize skills across parents, caregivers, family, peers, setting, stimuli, etc.
  • Progress program targets as outlined by Supervisor
  • Take baseline data as needed. If data is not collected for a session, the hourly rate for that session will be considered administrative.
  • Purge monthly data for Supervisor per instruction, if applicable
  • Review team data for measurement accuracy (e.g., behavior rate, goals, etc.)
  • Assess and communicate progress in skill development (e.g., concerns, stagnation, and/or limited opportunities to target goals)
  • Provide opportunity for parents to practice ABA strategies during session (e.g., modeling strategies, taking data on parent goals, briefing parents on session, etc.)
  • Proactively communicate case updates and needs to team (e.g., behavioral concerns, parent concerns, etc.)
  • Receive constructive feedback with professionalism
  • Implement feedback immediately
  • Seek feedback to continue professional growth and development
  • Model appropriate strategies for onboarding Behavior Therapists
  • Accurately describe methods in analytic terms to incoming Behavior Therapists and stakeholders
  • Accurately define and provide examples of ABA concepts and principles
  • Determine, establish, and reassess reinforcement hierarchy on an ongoing basis
  • Outline and demonstrate specific prompting hierarchy based on individualized needs
  • Outline and demonstrate independent prompt fading techniques relevant to the client and goal
  • Accurately implement various behavior change procedures
  • Contrive opportunities to teach new skillsets to team (e.g., shaping, prompt fading, errorless learning, etc..)
  • Identify objective of goal and implement supporting activities

Measures of Performance

  • Data collected through direct observation of Senior Behavior Therapist in session
  • Interobserver agreement (IOA) data on client behaviors and goals
  • RBT supervision forms inclusive of continued education in RBT skillset
  • Continued education through ongoing Senior Refresher Trainings, and Mentorship Program Trainings
  • Supervisor/Case Manager feedback through data collection on Therapist Evaluation Form (TEF)
  • Adherence/compliance to CSH policy and execution of all policies and procedures
  • Meet all essential job function requirements as described in the job description
  • Failure to maintain minimum requirements of position will result in change in position status from Senior Behavior Therapist to Behavior Therapist, or stepdown in level (e.g., Senior back to BT role), at the Directorโ€™s discretion.
