Job description

We are seeking experienced professionals to support neurodivergent teens and young adults (ages 13-22) in building independence at home and in the community. This is not a traditional caregiving role! You will provide 1:1 support, help individuals develop life skills, and confidently manage challenging behaviors in real-world environments.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide 1:1 support in home and community settings, including errands, activities, appointments, and daily routines.
  • Support communication, emotional regulation, and independence-building skills.
  • Maintain a calm, professional presence during high-anxiety situations, sensory overload, or behavioral escalations.
  • Implement visual supports, technology tools, and structured strategies that promote autonomy.
  • Collaborate with families and team members to ensure successful outcomes.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with autistic teens or adults, particularly individuals with high-support behavioral needs.
  • Current or recent crisis intervention certification (CPI, QBS, Pro-ACT, or equivalent)
  • Experience managing aggressive behaviors, de-escalation, and crisis situations independently.
  • Strong communication skills, professionalism, reliability, and sound judgment.
  • Preferred: BCBA, BCaBA, Senior RBT, OT, SLP, Special Education, or related experience.
