Position Description:

Designs, develops, tests, and deploys applications, performing all phases of testing through implementation. Applies Oracle PL/SQL, Cassandra, Snowflake, and Amazon Web Services (AWS) software system testing tools and validation procedures, programming, and documentation. Delivers and supports modern web and data solutions. Architects, develops, and supports mission-critical data solutions that power application functionality and optimize customer experience. Performs REST based web services development using frameworks including AWS EC2, EKS, S3, and Lambda. Provides business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
  • Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.
  • Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
  • Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
  • Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
  • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.
  • Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.
  • Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
  • Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.
  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing, testing, and performance tuning enterprise financial applications, using Go, Java, and AWS in a financial domain.

Or, alternatively, Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing, testing, and performance tuning enterprise financial applications, using Go, Java, and AWS in a financial domain.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") developing enterprise financial services and middleware applications, using Go, Python, Java/J2EE, Spring (MVC and Boot), and Hibernate in distributed environments; and integrating with Oracle, Cassandra, and Snowflake databases.
  • DE designing and building Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines with Jenkins, GitHub, Maven, and Artifactory for business-critical applications; and implementing Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) practices in Agile environments using JIRA.
  • DE operating and optimizing cloud-native applications on AWS, using EKS, Lambda, Step Functions, CloudFormation, and Datadog.
  • DE developing web-based interfaces and Application Programming Interface (APIs), leveraging HTML, CSS, JavaScript, REST, and SOAP integrations; and processing JSON and XML payloads.
