QUALITY CONTROL ENGINEER - ELECTRICAL, HVAC & PLUMBING
Premier Service Company, Inc. | Tuscaloosa, AL | Full-Time | Salaried | $58,000-$75,000 DOE
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Control Engineer to oversee quality assurance and control processes for electrical, HVAC, and plumbing construction projects. This position is responsible for ensuring all work meets company standards, project specifications, safety requirements, and applicable codes while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and operational excellence.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Quality Control Engineer will work closely with project managers, field supervisors, foremen, subcontractors, and clients to ensure projects are completed correctly, efficiently, and in compliance with all contractual and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance & Inspections
• Conduct field inspections for electrical, HVAC, and plumbing installations.
• Verify workmanship complies with project drawings, specifications, and local/state codes.
• Develop and implement quality control procedures and standards.
• Perform punch list inspections and monitor corrective actions.
• Maintain quality documentation, reports, and inspection records.
• Coordinate testing and commissioning activities.
Project Support
• Collaborate with project managers and field leadership throughout project lifecycle.
• Review plans, specifications, and submittals for quality and constructability concerns.
• Identify deficiencies and recommend corrective solutions.
• Assist with project closeout documentation and owner turnover packages.
Compliance & Safety
• Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and company safety policies.
• Monitor adherence to NEC, IPC, IMC, and other applicable codes and standards.
• Participate in safety meetings and jobsite audits.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to quality and safety.
Training & Process Improvement
• Assist in training field personnel on quality standards and installation best practices.
• Help develop standard operating procedures and quality checklists.
• Analyze recurring issues and recommend process improvements.
• Promote a culture of craftsmanship, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's -Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in electrical, HVAC, plumbing, or commercial construction.
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and code requirements.
  • Knowledge of NEC, plumbing, and mechanical codes.
  • Experience conducting inspections and quality audits.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environments.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and construction management software.

Preferred Qualifications
  • OSHA 30 Certification
