Position Summary
Completes quality testing of material produced and provides finished test data to Quality Manager. Ensures data information is consistent and accurate for both in process and finished products and ensures products meets or exceeds Product standards and customer requirements. Will act as a backup across the Quality team to help advance projects as assigned as well as be the primary responsible person for training. This is a first shift position.
Dimensions of Job:
  1. Acts as a lead in the quality organization to aid in the back up of Quality tech team members
  2. Self-starter and independent worker to address/maintain specialty projects as assigned
  3. Support QNT site Quality function as needed
  4. Ensures correct test result information on material is being produced and shipped
  5. Ensures proper documentation of shipments is complete and accurate
  6. Ensures all applicable quality documents are created, completed, and reviewed on time

Principal Duties & Responsibilities
The individual is responsible for maintaining compliance with the Mandatory Standards and Requirements (MMSRs) within their sphere of influence. In addition, compliance with all FDA, OSHA, EPA, and MSHA regulatory agencies is required. Responsible for bringing all environmental, health and safety and/or quality incidents or concerns to management for resolution.
  1. Completes all responsibilities outlined in the Sr. Quality Tech position
  2. Responsible for assuring that QMS/SOP programs are in compliance with cGMP regulatory expectations (ICH Q7, 21 CFR 110/117), the Nutrition Quality Policies and Huber's EH&S policies and procedures. If gaps are identified, they are to be brought to the attention of the site Quality Manager and QA/QC Specialist
  3. Maintains records of the raw material/finished product documentation and testing results.
  4. In the absence of the QA/QC Specialist has authority to make product shipment or no shipment decisions based on quality testing results, including authority to reject product and prescribe specific disposition of materials.
  5. Participate in the maintenance and completion of quality programs such as, but not limited to: HACCP, Raw Material Annual testing, Finished Product Guarantee testing, Stability, Annual Product Quality Review (APQR), Calibrations, etc.
  6. Assures that Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) are kept up to date and are consistently applied within the organization.
  7. Assists in all Environmental, Pest, Glass & Brittle Plastic, monitoring and/or document maintenance.
  8. Assist in monitoring good housekeeping practices throughout the plant
  9. Follows all company policies and procedure and ensures compliance, when applicable, federal, state, local and corporate regulations.
  10. Works in accordance with Huber vision, principles and the desired culture.
  11. Travel to other Huber facilities as needed to support and maintain assigned duties/projects
  12. Performs other duties as required and directed.

Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills
1. Education - Collage degree in science, chemistry, or math preferred but may be waved based on the job related experience. A high school diploma or GED is required.
2. Able to read and comprehend Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), Safety and Health manuals and procedures, and Quality Control terminology (i.e. units of measure, etc.). and be able to successfully support and train quality staff as needed.
3. Must be able to perform and understand basic mathematical calculations and basic statistics.
4. Must act and work in a safe and healthy manner in both the laboratory and plant environments. The individual must learn and observe all applicable company policies and safe practices and perform all duties assigned by supervisors or other members of management.
5. Must have advanced knowledge of computers.
6. Must have good overall communication skills with employees at all levels of the organization.
7. More than 5 years of lab experience required, this may be from within Huber or documented from previous employment.
8. Must have through knowledge of testing methods and be able to successfully support and train quality staff ass needed.
Physical Requirements
Individual works mostly in a climate-controlled office and laboratory environment. Exposure to chemicals, light, noises and dusts. Will be required to lift 60 pounds, stand for extended period of time and work in cold or hot environments. This position requires multitasking, often with limited supervision and time limitations on all activities, which may be stressful.

In addition to base compensation, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and profit-sharing payout.
