Senior Python Full Stack Developer information

How much does a senior Python developer make?

A senior Python full stack developer typically earns between $100,000 and $150,000 annually, depending on experience, location, and company size. Skilled developers with expertise in frameworks like Django or Flask and experience with front-end technologies tend to command higher salaries.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Senior Python Full Stack Developer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Senior Python Full Stack Developer, you need advanced proficiency in Python, JavaScript frameworks (such as React or Angular), database management, and a solid understanding of both front-end and back-end development principles, often backed by a degree in computer science or related experience. Familiarity with tools like Django or Flask, RESTful APIs, version control systems (e.g., Git), and cloud platforms is typically required. Excellent problem-solving abilities, effective communication, and the ability to mentor junior developers are standout soft skills for this role. These skills ensure robust, scalable applications and foster effective collaboration across technical teams, driving project success.

What is the difference between Senior Python Full Stack Developer vs Backend Developer?

AspectSenior Python Full Stack DeveloperBackend Developer
Required SkillsProficiency in Python, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, frameworks like Django/Flask, React or AngularStrong Python skills, experience with server-side development, databases, APIs
Work EnvironmentFull-stack development across front-end and back-end, often in agile teamsPrimarily server-side, database, and API development
Industry UsageTech companies, startups, enterprises needing full-stack solutionsWeb services, SaaS, enterprise applications

The main difference is that a Senior Python Full Stack Developer handles both front-end and back-end development, requiring skills in multiple technologies, while a Backend Developer focuses mainly on server-side logic, databases, and APIs. The full-stack role demands broader expertise, whereas backend roles are more specialized in server-side development.

What are Senior Python Full Stack Developers?

Senior Python Full Stack Developers are experienced software engineers who specialize in both frontend and backend web development using Python and related technologies. They are responsible for designing, building, and maintaining complex web applications, often leading teams and making architectural decisions. Their expertise typically includes frameworks like Django or Flask for backend development, as well as JavaScript frameworks such as React or Angular for the frontend. In addition to coding, they often mentor junior developers and ensure best practices in software development. Their role requires a deep understanding of databases, APIs, deployment processes, and modern development workflows.

What are some common challenges faced by Senior Python Full Stack Developers when working on cross-functional teams?

Senior Python Full Stack Developers often collaborate with designers, product managers, and DevOps specialists, which can present challenges in aligning technical solutions with business goals and user experience expectations. Balancing backend performance with frontend responsiveness and maintaining clear communication across disciplines are key hurdles. Additionally, staying updated with rapidly evolving frameworks and ensuring code quality and scalability across the stack requires continual learning and adaptability. Successful developers proactively bridge these gaps by fostering open dialogue and advocating for best practices throughout the development process.

Is there demand for Python full stack developer?

The demand for Python full stack developers remains strong due to the language's versatility in web development, data analysis, and automation. Companies seek professionals skilled in frameworks like Django and Flask, along with front-end technologies, to build comprehensive applications. Proficiency in related tools and continuous learning can enhance job prospects in this field.

Which pays more, C++ or Python?

For a Senior Python Full Stack Developer, Python skills generally command higher salaries due to its widespread use in web development, data science, and automation. C++ developers may earn more in specialized fields like systems programming or game development, but overall Python offers higher average compensation for full stack roles. Salary differences depend on industry, experience, and location.

Is Python full-stack in demand in 2026?

Python full-stack development remains in high demand in 2026 due to its versatility, with companies seeking developers skilled in frameworks like Django and Flask, as well as front-end technologies. Strong knowledge of databases, APIs, and version control tools enhances employability in this role.

Job description

Staff Full-Stack Engineer, Integrations Engineering

Are you excited to design and build platform capabilities that make complex integrations scalable, reliable, and effortless to operate? Do you enjoy turning ambiguous technical and operational challenges into intuitive customer-facing experiences, powerful internal tools, and durable architectural solutions? Are you energized by influencing technical strategy, mentoring engineers, and shaping how APIs, workflows, observability, and platform services come together across a modern SaaS ecosystem? If so, we invite you to be a part of our innovative team.

As a Staff Full-Stack Engineer at Ridgeline, you'll help define and deliver the next generation of our integrations platform, building solutions that power customer onboarding, operational efficiency, observability, and data connectivity across the investment management ecosystem. You'll partner closely with Product, Design, Customer Experience, Security, and Engineering teams to solve complex cross-functional problems and create scalable platform capabilities that reduce operational burden while improving customer outcomes. Our team of engineers are building with cutting-edge technologies—like Claude Code and Cursor—in a fast-moving, creative, progressive work environment.

At Ridgeline, how we work matters as much as what we build. Ridgeliners act like owners, choose growth over comfort, and communicate with transparency. We assume positive intent, bias toward action, and bring solutions—not just problems. We celebrate wins, learn from setbacks, and thrive in a resilient, collaborative, high-performing culture. If this excites you, we'd love to meet you!

You must be work authorized in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship.

The impact you will have:

  • Design and deliver full-stack platform features across Integrations Hub, managed integrations, Data Share workflows, integration observability, and internal tooling.
  • Help define the technical direction for Ridgeline's integrations platform, including how integrations, APIs, operational tooling, and customer-facing workflows fit together.
  • Partner closely with Product, Design, CX, API Engineering, Security, and other engineering teams to clarify requirements, evaluate trade-offs, and drive execution.
  • Use AI tools thoughtfully throughout the SDLC to accelerate research, prototyping, implementation, testing, documentation, and review, while ensuring outputs are accurate, secure, maintainable, and production-ready.
  • Build scalable, maintainable services and user experiences that reduce one-off work and improve customer onboarding and supportability.
  • Make integration health easier to understand and act on through clearer status models, richer process views, actionable logs and alerts, and streamlined troubleshooting workflows.
  • Lead technical discovery for ambiguous initiatives and translate open-ended product or operational needs into concrete architecture and implementation plans.
  • Set a high bar for code quality, testing, operational readiness, documentation, and long-term maintainability.
  • Mentor and support engineers across the team through design reviews, code reviews, technical guidance, and thoughtful delegation, including modeling effective and responsible AI-assisted engineering practices.

What we look for:

  • Strong experience building and operating enterprise-grade production software across both front-end and back-end systems.
  • Solid architectural judgment and the ability to make pragmatic trade-offs between speed, quality, reliability, and long-term maintainability.
  • Experience designing APIs, services, workflows, and user-facing product experiences.
  • Comfort working with ambiguous requirements and shaping them into executable plans.
  • Strong communication skills, especially with cross-functional partners and adjacent engineering teams.
  • A track record of leading complex technical work without needing heavy direction.
  • Strong ownership instincts, including following work through deployment, production support, and iteration.
  • Curiosity and judgment in using AI-assisted development tools to increase leverage while maintaining accountability for the final product.
  • The ability to mentor other engineers and raise the technical bar of the team.

Bonus:

  • Experience with AI-assisted development workflows, including tools such as Claude, Cursor, Copilot, or similar.
  • Experience improving observability, troubleshooting workflows, or support tooling.
  • Experience building product surfaces that make complex technical workflows easier for customers, operators, or internal teams.
  • Familiarity with event-driven or streaming integration patterns (e.g., Kafka, Pub/Sub)
