Senior Python & Snowflake Developer
About the role
As a Senior Python & Snowflake Developer, you will make an impact by designing and delivering scalable data solutions that enable advanced analytics, operational reporting, and business intelligence across the enterprise. You will be a valued member of the Data Engineering team and work collaboratively with data architects, analysts, product owners, and business stakeholders to build modern cloud-based data platforms that support critical business outcomes.
In this role, you will:
  • Design, develop, and optimize scalable data processing solutions using Python and Snowflake to support analytics, reporting, and operational workloads.
  • Build and maintain batch and near real-time data pipelines that deliver accurate, reliable, and high-quality data across enterprise systems.
  • Develop and optimize Snowflake SQL solutions, including data models, transformations, stored procedures, and automated processing tasks.
  • Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to translate requirements into secure, scalable, and maintainable data architectures.
  • Drive engineering excellence through code reviews, automation, performance optimization, monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What you need to have to be considered
  • 6-10 years of experience in software development, data engineering, or related technical roles.
  • Strong hands-on experience developing solutions using Python.
  • Extensive experience designing and optimizing data solutions on the Snowflake platform.
  • Advanced SQL skills with experience developing complex queries, transformations, and data processing workflows.
  • Proven experience building and supporting enterprise-scale data pipelines and data integration solutions.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, data modeling, data quality, and performance optimization techniques.
  • Experience implementing monitoring, alerting, and operational support processes for production data environments.
  • Strong understanding of secure coding practices, data protection standards, and software development best practices.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

These will help you stand out
  • Experience working within Property & Casualty Insurance environments.
  • Knowledge of underwriting, claims, policy administration, billing, or insurance analytics processes.
  • Experience designing near real-time or event-driven data integration solutions.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Experience creating reusable frameworks, automation solutions, and engineering standards.
  • Experience supporting enterprise reporting, advanced analytics, and business intelligence initiatives.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $85,00- $120,000 USD depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
