Job Summary:
Gravity is a company focused on tackling national security challenges with vision and ingenuity. They are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to develop advanced analytic solutions that enhance intelligence production and mission effectiveness, using Python and other tools to create data-driven insights.
Responsibilities:
• develop and operationalize advanced analytic solutions that directly enhance intelligence production and mission effectiveness
• design and deploy Python-based solutions and analytic pipelines that integrate structured and unstructured data from multiple sources, including web APIs and enterprise repositories
• create solutions, interactive dashboards, and analytic interfaces that improve analytic rigor, transparency, and reproducibility
• modernize legacy workflows to ensure reliability, scalability, and maintainability in high-consequence environments
• coordinate with our clients to understand questions and issues involving the client’s datasets
• determine the best method and approach to create data-driven solutions within program guidelines
• lead/assist in the development of automated processes
• architect data science solutions
• conduct analysis
• use available tools to analyze data
• remain adaptable to mission requirements
• identify patterns to help solve some of the complex problems that face the DoD and Intelligence Community (IC)
Qualifications:
Required:
• Active TS/SCI Clearance is required with the ability to obtain a CI Poly.
• 10+ years of relevant experience. (A combination of years of experience & professional certifications/trainings/degree can be used in lieu of the years of experience requirement)
• Senior-level proficiency in Python with demonstrated experience in designing mission ready solutions.
• Experience querying and integrating web APIs through Python to retrieve, normalize, and operationalize data.
• Experience developing interactive data visualizations using Plotly, Seaborn, Matplotlib, Bokeh, or comparable tools.
• Experience building dashboards and analytic interfaces using Dash, Streamlit, Panel, Tableau, or similar platforms.
• Strong SQL skills and experience querying relational databases.
• Experience using Git-based version control platforms such as GitLab or GitHub.
• Proficiency with geospatial processing frameworks such as GDAL or ArcPy.
• Proficiency with GIS desktop software such as ArcGIS Pro or QGIS.
• Ability to write clear, concise technical documentation related to software systems and automated workflows.
• Ability to operate independently at a senior level with limited oversight.
• Familiarity with USSOCOM and broader U.S. military organizational structures.
• Familiarity with common Intelligence Community (IC) data repositories.
