Job description

Senior Systems Engineer
Location: Hybrid / Hillsborough, NC (Required to work onsite 3 days per week)
Job Purpose
Sports Endeavors is looking for an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to be an integral member of our IT Operations team. The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting a Cisco enterprise infrastructure across on-premises and AWS cloud environments. In addition, the position will support other enterprise technologies including VMWare, Windows Server and Active Directory and storage.
Major Accountabilities / Essential Duties
  • Enterprise Network Architecture
    • Design, implement, and maintain a Cisco enterprise routing, switching, wireless, SD-WAN, and firewall infrastructure across multiple locations.
    • Design and support hybrid connectivity between on-premises infrastructure and AWS, including Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, VPN, and cloud networking.
    • Lead monitoring, performance management, and capacity planning initiatives
    • Design and implement automation and operational efficiency improvements
  • Identity & Access
    • Manage enterprise identity, authentication, and remote access solutions including Active Directory, Cisco ISE, MFA, VPN, and certificate-based authentication.
    • Maintain and support systems including Windows Server, DNS, DHCP, and enterprise applications
  • Security
    • Lead infrastructure security initiatives including firewall management, network segmentation, vulnerability remediation, identity services, certificate management, secure remote access, and compliance efforts such as PCI DSS.
  • Technical Support
    • Serve as Tier 3 escalation point and lead troubleshooting and resolution of critical incidents
    • Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices
    • Lead infrastructure projects including upgrades, migrations, and cloud adoption
    • Assist is all areas and levels of technical support as needed
    • Serve as escalation point in on-call rotation

Qualifications
  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience
  • 7-10+ years of experience in systems and infrastructure support
  • Cisco networking experience includes routing, switching, VPNs, and firewalls
  • Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP
  • Experience with VMWare and enterprise storage
  • Ability to provide technical assistance to co-workers and clients by troubleshooting technical problems.
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service and communication skills
  • The ability to work in a team environment and willing to lend a hand in all areas of the infrastructure.
  • AWS, Microsoft and/or VMWare certifications are a plus, but not required
