Senior Project Manager - Transportation
Location: Farmington Hills, MI
Employment Type: Full-Time
For over 70 years Fishbeck has been building. As a 100% employee-owned firm, every team member has a stake in what we build together-our work, our reputation, and our future. Now we need to add a Senior Project Manager - Transportation to help us keep building.
Working with our Transportation Design team, you will lead project execution, drive business development, mentor staff, and strengthen client partnerships while supporting and growing Fishbeck's design practice in Southeast Michigan and across regional offices in Indiana, Ohio, and Texas.
What You'll Do
  • Lead and grow Fishbeck's transportation design practice, including recruiting in partnership with team leaders.
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and guidance to technical staff.
  • Perform Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) reviews on project deliverables.
  • Oversee project execution and ensure technical excellence across transportation design work.
  • Manage transportation design contracts with DOTs, counties, municipalities, and private clients.
  • Coordinate project schedules, budgets, and resources to support successful delivery.
  • Support cross-office collaboration on transportation projects across multiple states.
  • Identify and pursue new transportation design opportunities; lead pursuits, proposals, and fee estimates.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships across public and private sectors.
  • Contribute to Fishbeck's long-term business goals, growth strategy, and presence in Southeast Michigan.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • 20+ years of experience in transportation design, including DOT and/or local agency projects.
  • Proven experience managing large DOT contracts.
  • Strong background in transportation design software and modeling tools.
  • Demonstrated leadership in mentoring staff and managing teams.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
  • Ability to travel to project and client sites as needed.
