Description
The PENTA Building Group is searching for a Senior Project Manager to join our team in Los Angeles County and Orange County, CA!
A PENTA Senior Project Manager is responsible for the management and coordination of the project team; and, in conjunction with the Project Superintendent, assumes overall responsibility and accountability for the success of the project. This position entails oversight of the Project Engineers on the team and managing the contractual relationship between the subcontractors and PENTA.
A PENTA Senior Project Manager will also:
  • Operate as the main point of contact with Owner and design teams, maintaining clear and timely communication and developing a strong professional relationship.
  • Responsible for initiating and maintaining a positive team morale and setting the tone for an enjoyable work environment.
  • Complete project startup checklist, and develop, implement, and assign activities.
  • Set up and oversee document control process, and monitor throughout process and close out.
  • Manage the Project Engineers to ensure RFIs, Submittals, and Procurement items are processed in a timely manner.
  • Run OAC meetings and project team meetings, addressing higher level and complex items.
  • Consolidate the contract estimate into the budget. Develop the schedule of values and cost reports.
  • Continually review and update project budget.
  • Review Monthly Project Financial Reports for its accuracy.
  • Identify scope changes that constitute Subcontractor Change Orders and Prime Contract Change Orders, communicate changes with Owner, and provide direction/process of project change orders.
  • Work with General Superintendent to manage and coordinate project schedules.
  • Prepare scope of work exhibits and all contract details for review.
  • Accurately prepare and run Monthly Project Report meetings.
  • Monitor and track project insurances and bonds to ensure compliance with project and PENTA requirements.
  • Understand insurance requirements like Builders Risk and CCIP. Address complex issues with insurance such as refunds or claims, review Bond Recommendation Form, and sign off on it.
  • Oversee pay application process for timely submission of pay applications, receipt of payments, and subcontractor payments.
  • Knowledge of historical cost and ability to support conceptual estimating services for potential new projects.
  • Promote the company's safety culture by understanding OSHA requirements & the company's safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain and build new relationships with architects, industry partners, and subcontractors.
  • Mentor and conduct career development discussions for Project Managers, Project Engineers, Contract Administrators, and team.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned that may not be listed here.

  • 5+ years minimum of experience in a prior construction project management role
  • Experience working on higher education and/or healthcare construction projects is highly preferred
  • Prior experience leading and managing a team of direct reports
  • Experience working on large commercial construction projects
  • Degree in Construction Management or a related field
  • OSHA 10 or 30 Certification
  • Fluency in reading, quantifying, and analyzing construction drawings
  • Competent understanding of construction scheduling and sequencing
  • The ability to work efficiently on fast-paced construction projects with accelerated schedules
  • Flexibility to commute to project locations within the Los Angeles and Orange Counties.
  • Salary Range DOE $130,000 - $160,000

The pay range may differ in other locations. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors and is in good faith and/or offer for this position.
