Job description

About the Role:
As a Preconstruction Manager, you will lead the preconstruction team and oversee the full RFP process, guiding proposal development, estimating, and design efforts through clear scope documentation. You will ensure alignment with departmental procedures while driving a seamless transition from the RFP phase into project execution, including project kick-offs and leadership reviews. The role involves crafting, negotiating, executing, and managing construction-related contracts, serving as the primary liaison for suppliers, and maintaining accurate contract documentation. You will communicate contract details to stakeholders, resolve contract-related issues, support pre-contract strategy, and oversee contract close-outs, extensions, or renewals to support the company's best interests.
What You'll Do:
  • Manage preconstruction team and the RFP associated RFP process.
  • Prepare/Review scope documents for directing proposal, estimating and design efforts.
  • Adhere to and support Implementation of department procedures, processes, and directives.
  • Drive the transition between the RFP cycle and project implementation, including conducting the project kick-off, department reviews, and management review meetings.
  • Craft, evaluate, negotiate, and execute a wide variety of contracts related to construction efforts.
  • Create and maintain relationships with suppliers and serve as the singular point of contact for matters concerning contracts.
  • Maintain records for correspondence and documentation in relation to established contracts and those in progress.
  • Communicate and present information to all stakeholders related to the contract/statement of work.
  • Monitor contracts and move forward with close-out, extension, or renewal according to what's best for the company.
  • Solve any contract-related problems that may arise with other parties and internally with the company itself.
  • Participate in the pre-contract efforts to drive the terms in the contract.

What You'll Need:
  • A bachelor's degree in business administration, construction management, or equivalent.
  • A graduate degree in business or MBA would be beneficial.
  • Ten years' experience in construction, operations, or business management.
  • Experience with all phases of design from conceptual documents to final drawings and specifications
  • Experience in one or more of the following industries is preferred: Hyperscale, enterprise
  • An excellent communicator with top-notch presentation skills.
  • A thorough understanding of the latest process enhancement strategies.
  • Dynamic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Confidence in your abilities to lead organizational change.
