The Opportunity:

We are currently seeking a Sr. Project Engineer – CMCI to join our Cincinnati, OH office.

This role focuses on managing and supporting construction projects through all phases of delivery, ensuring projects are built according to plans and specifications while maintaining schedule, budget, quality, and safety standards. The Senior Project Engineer will serve as a key liaison between clients, contractors, and internal teams while providing leadership to inspection and project staff.

This position offers the opportunity to work on impactful infrastructure projects while contributing to high-quality project execution and client satisfaction.

What You’ll Do

As a Sr. Project Engineer, you will oversee construction activities, coordinate project stakeholders, and support project management functions to ensure successful delivery. You will monitor project progress, manage communications, resolve issues, and provide technical oversight while supporting the construction management and inspection team.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management & Construction Oversight

  • Manage construction projects to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, contracts, and applicable standards.
  • Monitor project schedules, budgets, and progress, and report status to project owners and stakeholders.
  • Review project plans for conformance with specifications, building codes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee project safety practices and construction quality.

Coordination & Client Engagement

  • Serve as liaison between clients, contractors, and design professionals.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary support teams including utilities, geotechnical, environmental, traffic, and design staff.
  • Oversee contract correspondence and communication among project stakeholders.
  • Resolve disputes and facilitate issue resolution between contractors and project owners.

Technical & Administrative Support

  • Review and develop cost estimates, change orders, RFIs, and project submittals.
  • Review technical and price proposals, task budgets, and invoices in coordination with internal departments.
  • Support procurement and contract administration activities.
  • Assess project staffing needs and allocate resources appropriately.

Team Leadership

  • Supervise inspectors, materials testers, and other PRIME associates assigned to projects.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff and field personnel.
  • Support a collaborative team environment focused on quality and safety.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Professional certifications such as FE/EIT, CMIT, PMP, or PE preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of construction management practices and project delivery principles.
  • Working knowledge of CPM scheduling, materials testing, and construction engineering processes.
  • Ability to interpret construction contracts, plans, and specifications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and project responsibilities simultaneously.
