Job description

Mechanical Project Engineer
The Mechanical Project Engineer will be responsible for supporting upgrades and development of existing packaging equipment and specifying new manufacturing equipment within the facility. Packaging equipment includes fill/seal equipment, blister fillers, cartoners, and labeling equipment.

Qualified candidates must have:
· Minimum 5 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical, food, or cosmetic industry
· AutoCAD, Microsoft Word and Excel proficiency
· Excellent verbal and written communications skills
· Good problem-solving ability
· Ability to work in independently and in a team
· Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities will include:
· Manage projects of varying size and complexity related to pharmaceutical packaging equipment
· Perform new equipment justification and set project budgets
· Determine whether to manufacture in house or utilize integrators, based on size and complexity of project
· Set project schedules and ensure deadlines and budgets are being met
· Define and execute experiments and factory acceptance tests as required
· Create user requirement specifications, equipment change control documentation, bid documents, and testing requirements
· Create drawings and bills of material packages as needed
· Review vendor quotations and participate in vendor selection
· May create and execute validation documents
