Job description

Sr. Project Manager – Mechanical Contractor

We are seeking a Mechanical Project Manager to lead mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role is responsible for overseeing project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and execution while working closely with field teams, subcontractors, and clients to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget.

The Project Manager plays a key role in driving project success—coordinating resources, managing contracts and procurement, and ensuring projects stay aligned with schedule, cost, and quality goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead mechanical construction projects from start to finish

  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and cost control

  • Conduct preconstruction turnover meetings and oversee project startup activities

  • Coordinate procurement of materials and equipment

  • Negotiate and manage subcontractor agreements

  • Oversee project documentation including RFIs, submittals, and logs

  • Administer contracts, billing schedules, and change orders

  • Monitor labor productivity and staffing on assigned projects

  • Track project financial performance, forecasting, and cost management

  • Review and approve subcontractor and supplier invoices

  • Ensure permits, licenses, and compliance requirements are met

  • Maintain clear communication with field teams, subcontractors, and clients

Qualifications
  • Experience managing mechanical construction projects

  • Strong understanding of construction scheduling, budgeting, and cost control

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Experience coordinating with subcontractors and field teams

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • Typically 10+ years of relevant construction experience
