Job Summary
The Auxiliary Services Marketing Student Assistant supports marketing, communications, and promotional efforts for Auxiliary Services at the University of North Georgia's Dahlonega campus. This position provides hands-on experience in graphic design, social media marketing, content creation, photography, videography, event promotion, and brand communications. The student worker will help promote a variety of Auxiliary Services departments, including Dining Services, Bookstore, Parking and Transportation, Postal Services, Laundry Services, and other campus support operations. This position is ideal for a student pursuing Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field who is seeking real-world experience in a fast-paced marketing environment.
Responsibilities
  • Create graphic design materials for print and digital platforms, including posters, flyers, social media graphics, digital signage, and promotional items.
  • Assist with the planning, promotion, and execution of Auxiliary Services events and campus initiatives.
  • Produce and edit content for social media channels, including photography, short-form videos, and promotional campaigns.
  • Capture photo and video content highlighting Auxiliary Services programs, events, and student experiences.
  • Serve as an on-camera representative for social media and marketing content as needed, demonstrating confidence and professionalism in video productions.
  • Assist with content planning, scheduling, and social media engagement activities.
  • Support marketing and communications projects for Dining Services, Bookstore, Parking and Transportation, Postal Services, Laundry Services, and other Auxiliary Services departments.
  • Maintain brand standards and ensure marketing materials align with university guidelines.
  • Perform other marketing, communications, and administrative duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of current social media platforms and digital marketing trends.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with or ability to learn graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Canva, etc.).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Required Qualifications
  • Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred experience includes involvement in graphic design, marketing, communications, public relations, social media management, photography, videography, content creation, or related campus, academic, volunteer, or professional activities. Previous experience is beneficial but not required.
  • Basic photography and videography skills preferred.
