BKV Group seeks a Senior Project Architect or Project Manager I to lead projects focused on our regional Civic Government market. This position works closely with the Government Managing Partner to lead production and project teams for Civic projects, manage project scope, deliverables and budget, schedule the project design team, and assist with pursuit efforts for the Government practice group. The ideal candidate has 12-15+ years of experience as a well-rounded architect working in all project phases, experience leading and/or managing projects and a team of Architects and Designers, and has Civic project expertise (e.g. City Halls, Courthouses, Fire/EMS, Police Stations, County Offices, and/or Law Enforcement).

  • Project Management: Assist in preparing project contracts and consult with the Managing Partner and/or Senior Project Manager when requested. Responsible for managing project scope, schedule, and design team budgets with guidance from the Senior Project Manager and/or Managing Partner.
  • Staffing / Scheduling: Manage project team assignments and schedules for assigned staff. Coordinate with the VP of Operations and other leaders for staffing/scheduling of projects across practice sites including team member availability and allocation.
  • Design / Documentation / CA: Lead, coordinate and work alongside the project team through all phases of design and documentation in coordination with the Senior Project Manager. Collaborate with the project’s Senior Design Leader on project layout and design, and with the full-service holistic team to implement a unified design. Prepare project plans (scaled drawings) in Revit. Collaborate with the Construction Administration team, conducting periodic on-site observation of work during construction as required, working with the project design team in responding to construction related RFI’s, submittals and shop drawings.
  • Mentoring / Training / Developing: Act as a general resource for architectural staff related to questions/concerns. Provide mentoring opportunities for architectural design staff and advise senior leadership on training opportunities that would be beneficial for staff development.
  • Marketing / Business Development: Dependent on experience prior to joining BKV, the potential to assist in business development related opportunities related to the development of the Civic practice in the region to attract new clients and foster existing client relationships now or in the future.
Qualifications
  • Licensed and registered Architect preferred.
  • 12-15+ years’ related experience, including experience in the Civic Government sector.
  • Must be proficient in Revit and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Certification or experience in sustainable building design a plus.

Compensation range: $115,000 – $130,000 annually, or commensurate with experience.
