Genesis10 is currently seeking a Mainframe Senior Programmer for a contract position with a Regional Financial Institution located in Columbus, OH. This is a 6+ month contract opportunity. This role can be located in either Columbus, OH or Minneapolis, MN or remote. The team is looking for someone who understands Easytrieve and Cobol. The client is moving over from Easytrieve to Cobol and needs someone with strong knowledge of both and who is able to analyze the change. Compensation: $60.00 - $61.00 per hour, W2, based on qualifications Position Overview: The Programmer/Analyst - Senior modifies existing software and application programs running on the mainframe, which are typically more complex, or writes new programs to support user and management needs. This role involves consulting with users, resolving production issues, and potentially leading development projects. Key Responsibilities: Designs, tests, debugs, documents, and implements those programs Consults with users to design, modify, and explain program changes or to provide technical support Resolves problems which occur in production systems. Help with setting up outbound files for new customers Help test inbound files Help with running batch job stream when needed Help with documenting test results Performs other duties as assigned Primary Requirements: Bachelor's Degree 7+ years of Mainframe experience with COBOL, CICS, VSAM, DB2, JCL, Easytrieve Working knowledge of Changeman and Service Now Desired Skills: Ability to work independently and multitask within a collaborative work environment. Do the right thing attitude while being a strong team player.
