About This Role

This role is a high-impact opportunity to shape investment and commercial strategy across U.S. power markets, with a strong focus on ERCOT and other organized markets. You will lead advanced market modeling and translate complex power market dynamics into actionable insights that directly influence development, trading, and capital allocation decisions.

The Investments team drives portfolio strategy across Geronimo Power’s renewable energy, storage, and data center development opportunities. In this role, you will partner closely with Brookfield and internal stakeholders to evaluate market risks, optimize trading strategies, and support critical commercial and investment decisions..

The clean energy transition is occurring at a rapid pace, creating new commercial structures, load growth opportunities, and business models. The Senior Analyst will provide insight and expert analysis of US electricity markets to support project development, investment underwriting, origination, portfolio optimization, and strategic decision making.


Responsibilities

  • Lead nodal modeling & analysis of specified US electricity markets to support investment decisions, business planning, strategic planning, data center development, and new business opportunities
  • Develop, maintain & continuously improve in-house electricity market models and databases ensuring they are fit for purpose
  • Translate complex model outputs into clear, actionable insights for cross-functional stakeholders (Investments, Development, Origination, and Operations)
  • Support asset valuation, investment underwriting, and risk assessment for new and existing projects
  • Monitor market developments and provide analysis of critical changes
  • Track key regulatory changes within specific markets through research and attending conferences and ISO meetings
  • Become a leading electricity market expert internally and externally

What You’ll Bring

Experience & Education

  • Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Finance, Economics, or related quantitative field (power system emphasis desired)
  • 5+ years of experience in power markets, energy analytics, investment analysis, consulting, and/or energy trading

Technical & Business Expertise

  • Direct ERCOT notal modeling expertise
  • Advanced quantitative and analytical skills, including Excel and programing (Python, VBA, SQL, or similar)
  • Broad knowledge of US power industry structures, policies, regulations & market fundamentals
  • Familiarity with recent trends in conventional generation, renewables, gas, energy storage, transmission, data centers, large load growth & distributed generation
  • Strong understanding of transmission system and power flow fundamentals and LMP formation
  • Ability to translate model outputs into business insight & articulate impact of results on the business
  • Experience in developing & employing market and/or financial models, as well as with commercial production cost modeling software: PROMOD, PLEXOS, Aurora, Gridview, PAS, Dayzer, or similar
  • Familiarity with linear algebra, linear programming & optimization theory
  • Specific experience analyzing ERCOT, MISO, PJM, or other major US power markets is strongly desired

Pay Range for the posted level: $130,000 – 150,000 plus target annual bonus opportunity of 15%. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, skills, and demonstrated market-relevant expertise
