Our colleagues across the globe love innovating with science and technology to enrich people's lives with our solutions in Healthcare, Life Science, and Electronics. Together, we dream big and are passionate about caring for our rich mix of people, customers, patients, and planet. That's why we are always looking for curious minds that see themselves imagining the unimaginable with us.
This role does not offer sponsorship for work authorization. External applicants must be eligible to work in the US.
Your Role:
We are seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead and grow MilliporeSigma's Multiomics portfolio within our Biochemistry business, with a specific focus on metabolomics and glycomics. This is a high-impact, cross-functional role for a strategic thinker and hands-on executor who thrives at the intersection of science, commercial strategy, and business development.
The successful candidate will own the end-to-end product lifecycle, from identifying unmet customer needs and white-space opportunities to building and executing a differentiated innovation pipeline. This role requires a rare combination of deep scientific expertise, P&L ownership, and the commercial acumen to translate cutting-edge omics science into business results. The position sits within the Chemistry business field of Discovery Solutions and reports to Biochemistry business leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Portfolio Strategy and Innovation Pipeline
  • Define and own the multi-year product roadmap for metabolomics and glycomics, anchored in a workflow-centric approach spanning sample preparation, derivatization, separation, detection, and data interpretation.
  • Identify white-space opportunities through VOC programs, market analysis, competitive intelligence, and scientific literature; translate insights into actionable product development briefs.
  • Prioritize the innovation pipeline in alignment with business goals and resource constraints; champion projects through stage-gate processes from ideation through commercial launch.

Commercial Execution and Go-to-Market
  • Own full P&L performance for the multiomics portfolio, including revenue, gross margin, market share, and new product vitality index; take data-driven corrective action as needed.
  • Develop and execute launch plans for new multiomics products and workflow kits, including pricing strategy, positioning, channel strategy, and commercial readiness.
  • Champion a workflow-based go-to-market framework by building product bundles, application notes, and protocol libraries that drive pull-through across the Biochemistry portfolio.
  • Partner with the marketing communications team to develop technical content, including application notes, webinars, and conference presentations, that establish MilliporeSigma as the authoritative voice in multiomics.
  • Support sales and key account teams with competitive briefings, deal support, and customer-facing presentations; monitor the portfolio lifecycle and lead phase-out decisions for underperforming SKUs.

External Partnerships and Business Development
  • Identify, negotiate, and manage strategic partnerships with instrument manufacturers (MS, LC, CE platforms), software and informatics providers, and academic centers of excellence.
  • Collaborate with the Business Development team to evaluate in-licensing, co-development, and acquisition opportunities that strengthen the multiomics portfolio.
  • Build and maintain a network of KOLs, academic collaborators, and industry thought leaders; represent MilliporeSigma at key scientific conferences including ASMS, Metabolomics Society, HUPO, and SLAS.

Cross-Functional Leadership and Collaboration
  • Serve as business owner and internal champion for the multiomics portfolio, aligning R&D, supply chain, regulatory, quality, and commercial stakeholders around shared priorities.
  • Partner with R&D and Applications teams to define product specifications and ensure the application relevance of new products.
  • Contribute to the Biochemistry AOP and mid-term planning processes with data-driven portfolio analyses, revenue forecasts, and opportunity assessments.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior product management and marketing staff on best practices and commercial execution.

Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. or M.S. in Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Metabolomics, Glycobiology, or a closely related life science discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in product management, strategic marketing, or a closely related commercial role within life science tools, reagents, or analytical chemistry.
  • Demonstrable expertise in metabolomics and/or glycomics through hands-on research (academic or industry) or commercial management of related portfolios.
  • Strong working knowledge of LC-MS/MS, GC-MS, NMR, CE-MS, or other analytical platforms used in multiomics workflows.
  • Proven P&L ownership with demonstrated ability in market sizing, competitive benchmarking, financial modeling, and business case development.
  • Track record of developing and executing go-to-market plans including pricing, positioning, and channel strategy for life science research tools.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA or equivalent business training paired with an advanced scientific degree.
  • Established network within the metabolomics and/or glycomics research community across academia, pharmaceutical, or CRO environments.
  • Experience in multiomics workflow development, including sample preparation, derivatization chemistries, separation media, reference standards, and data analysis tools.
  • Prior business development experience including partner identification, term sheet negotiations, and licensing or co-development agreements.
  • Familiarity with bioinformatics and data analysis tools relevant to metabolomics and glycomics, such as MetaboAnalyst, Skyline, XCMS, or GlycoWorkbench.
  • Track record of successfully launching products in the life science research tools market.
