Job description

Description

MDVIP: Transforming Primary Care, One Patient at a Time

MDVIP is a national concierge medicine network with 1,300+ physicians across 45 states. We help patients find and enroll with concierge primary care doctors in their area. Our growth model is organic: we win by being the most useful, most trustworthy place for someone seriously considering a different kind of healthcare.

The organic growth team owns SEO, content, CRO, and the website experience. We're building a serious CRO and experimentation program, and design is central to it.

Role Summary

You'll design the experience that turns high-intent visitors into enrolled members. That means owning the conversion funnel end-to-end: from how physician profile pages present to a prospective patient, to how someone finds a doctor near them, to what happens when they click "Contact this physician."

Two things are non-negotiable at this level. First, user research has to drive your design decisions: conducting research yourself, building the artifacts (journey maps, personas, usability findings), and being able to show the work that got you to a design choice. Second, you'll own and maintain the design system for the organic growth surface area. That's how we move fast without creating inconsistency engineering has to clean up later.

We also expect genuine fluency with AI design tools, including Claude, as an active part of your workflow for research synthesis, rapid concepting, and spec writing. Because we're in healthcare, every design decision carries real stakes. You'll need to hold a high bar for clarity, trust, and accessibility.

If you're a senior product designer with deep UXR and design systems experience who is genuinely fluent in AI tools and has worked in a CRO or experimentation-driven environment, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and iterate on the member enrollment funnel: physician profiles, doctor finder, contact flows.
  • Own the design side of the A/B testing and CRO program: concept, wireframe, prototype, spec.
  • Conduct user research and build UXR artifacts that inform design decisions.
  • Own MDVIP's design system for the organic growth surface area.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Web Product and PM on sprint work and roadmap prioritization.
  • Design new content templates and page types as the content program scales.
  • Work directly with engineering during implementation to make sure things ship right.

Key Competencies

  • UXR fluency: conducts research, builds artifacts, and can show the work behind every design decision.
  • Design systems ownership: has built or meaningfully evolved a design system.
  • AI tool fluency: uses Claude and other AI tools actively in research synthesis, concepting, and spec writing.
  • Experimentation thinking: designs tests to answer questions, not just to look better than the control.
  • Engineering partnership: writes specs engineers can build from and follows through during implementation.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years in product design with a portfolio that includes conversion-focused work.
  • Experience conducting user research and building UXR artifacts: interviews, journey maps, usability reports.
  • Design systems experience: built or evolved a system and understands component-level consistency.
  • Genuine fluency with AI design tools, including Claude.
  • Experience designing for experimentation: A/B test design, not just aesthetics.
  • Strong IA and information hierarchy grasp.
  • Healthcare, financial services, or trust-sensitive category background.
  • Figma proficiency.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with CRO platforms (VWO, Optimizely).
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1).
  • Background designing for SEO-driven pages.
  • Mobile-first design experience for older healthcare audiences.

Computer Proficiency:

Proficient in Figma (required). Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, prototyping tools, and AI design tools including Claude. Experience with usability testing platforms a plus.

Why Join MDVIP?

  • Real ownership from day one: you set strategy, run the work, and own the outcome.
  • Healthcare mission: the work matters, and the users are people making real decisions about their care.
  • Building phase: this team is new, the program is new, and your fingerprints will be on how it's built.
  • Competitive Compensation: Attractive base salary complemented by performance-based incentives.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Health, dental, vision insurance, and retirement plans.
  • Positive Work Environment: Consistently recognized as a Great Place to Work, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
