Job description

Senior Process Engineer Position and Responsibilities
As a Senior Process Engineer with Middough, you will collect and prepare data and information to perform detailed engineering calculations. The Senior Process Engineer also performs engineering design and analysis on complex or unique problems and coaches/mentors less experienced engineers, designers, and drafters.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Lead process engineering and multi-discipline teams through all design phases of a capital project.
  • Collect and prepare data and information, perform detailed engineering calculations, and write formal engineering/technical reports.
  • Design of liquid ingredient and product handling, storage and transfer systems.
  • Prepare material and energy balance, hydraulic, and heat transfer engineering calculations.
  • Develop equipment specifications, bid evaluations and vendor submittal reviews.
  • Collect and prepare equipment specifications, bid evaluations and vendor submittal reviews.
  • Maintain active membership in professional organizations and participate in technical seminars/courses.
Education, Experience and Skills
The successful candidate will possess the following:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering discipline required; Chemical or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • 15+ years of process engineering experience.
  • Understanding of ASME, API, PIP, and CGA requirements preferred
  • Experience designing and supporting the construction of batch and continuous chemical processing facilities in one or more of the following areas:
    • Industrial gases and cryogenic facilities, coatings manufacturing, battery chemical components, precious metals refining, and plastics industries
  • Working knowledge with the preparation of block flow diagrams, process flow diagrams and piping and instrumentation diagrams.
  • Proficient with design of dry ingredient and product handling, storage and transfer systems.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail abilities.
  • Ability to multitask and organize for project efficiency.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
