Process Safety Management (PSM) Engineer
Location: Cartersville, GA
Classification: Salary Exempt
SUMMARY
QCELLS, America, is currently seeking a Process Safety Management (PSM) Engineer to work at our Cartersville, GA facility. This position will be responsible for leading the site in Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Program (RMP) activities and will be engaged in facilitation, technical "hands-on" work, and continuous improvement activities. The candidate will have the opportunity to be part of a new plant design, build, and start-up in the Cartersville, GA location.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Recognizes, evaluates, and controls process hazards.
  • Leads the development, implementation, review, and sustainability of site policies and technical guidelines associated with PSM and RMP elements (e.g., Process Hazard Analysis, Management of Change, Contractor Management, Process Safety Information, etc.) to deliver compliance.
  • Develops and implements an audit schedule for the site covering all elements of PSM and leads/conducts audits as required.
  • Leads/participates in incident investigations to identify root causes and corrective recommendations to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains Process Safety Management (PSM) And Risk Management Program (RMP) in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provides technical expertise in Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Plan (RMP), consults on regulatory compliance, hazard management, behavioral modification, and auditing programs.
  • Leads process hazard analysis (PHA) and facilitates root cause analysis for incidents.
  • Quantifies and assesses risks associated with identified hazards using risk assessment tools and methodologies.
  • Develops guidance and assists in the implementation of the Emergency Response Plan for the facilities as it relates to RMP/PSM.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) required.
  • 3+ years' experience in OSHA-PSM, EPA-RMP, requirements dealing with highly hazardous Chemicals (required).
  • Experience facilitating process hazard analyses (PHAs) (e.g., HAZOP/LOPA/SIL) for major hazard, multi-discipline, projects/studies.
  • Experience leading a Process Safety Management (PSM -29 CFR 1910.119) and a Risk Management Program (RMP - 40 CFR Part 68).
  • Experience conducting and facilitating various hazard analysis techniques such as Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOP), What-If Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), dispersion studies to identify potential hazards in processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Fluency in English, both oral and written communication.
  • Technical writing skills.
  • Presentation and/or training experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (especially MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
