Job Description

As demand grows for automation, AI-enabled solutions, and operational improvement across IT Operations, we need a disciplined way to identify the right opportunities, assess current processes, and determine where improvements can create measurable value. Without this function, teams risk investing time in low-value ideas, automating inefficient processes, or pursuing solutions that do not address the root cause of operational challenges.

This role should function as a Lean Six Sigma / process engineering resource focused on analyzing how work gets done across IT. The individual would help identify bottlenecks, eliminate waste, reduce manual effort, improve handoffs, document process gaps, and determine where automation or process redesign can make IT more effective and efficient.

The objective is not simply to automate more work. The objective is to improve how IT operates by understanding the process first, fixing what should be fixed, and then applying automation where it makes sense.

By establishing consistent intake, process analysis, opportunity assessment, and governance practices, this role will help improve productivity, delivery efficiency, operational scalability, risk reduction, and the long-term sustainability of our innovation program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Partner with IT Operations teams to understand current processes, pain points, and demand drivers.

  • Identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, waste, manual work, rework, delays, and unnecessary handoffs.

  • Use Lean Six Sigma, process engineering, or continuous improvement methods to assess opportunities.

  • Determine whether a process should be redesigned, simplified, standardized, or automated.

  • Evaluate whether process change, workflow improvement, system integration, AI-enabled automation, or other technology solutions are the right path.

  • Help prioritize opportunities based on value, complexity, risk, scalability, and operational impact.

  • Capture current-state and future-state workflows, requirements, process flows, decision points, and success measures.

  • Support delivery teams by ensuring requirements are clear, processes are understood, and solutions are aligned to business outcomes.

  • Help avoid automating broken, inefficient, or poorly understood processes.

Education/Previous Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field and more than five (5) years of relevant experience is preferred.

  • Prior experience in the Financial Services sector is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma, process engineering, business process improvement, operational excellence, or continuous improvement.

  • Ability to analyze IT and business processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, waste, and improvement opportunities.

  • Experience supporting IT Operations, infrastructure, enterprise technology, shared services, or similar operational teams.

  • Strong understanding of automation concepts, workflow improvement, system integration, and emerging AI-enabled capabilities.

  • Ability to assess opportunities for business value, operational readiness, risk, scalability, and measurable impact.

  • Experience documenting current-state and future-state process flows, business requirements, functional requirements, and decision points.

  • Ability to determine when the right answer is process redesign, standardization, workflow improvement, integration, automation, or no technology change.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills across technical and non-technical teams.

  • Understanding of SDLC, Agile, or enterprise technology delivery methodologies.

  • Experience supporting delivery teams through requirements clarification, solution design, testing, implementation, and post-production feedback.

  • Ability to manage multiple intake requests and priorities in a fast-paced enterprise environment.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • None required.
