Job description

Plant Controller
Responsible for the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes. Manages all journal entries, account reconciliations, monthly and quarterly reporting. Prepare financial statements for the US plant. Inventory, cost, and manufacturing accounting subject matter expert. Leads, manages, and develops Finance team.
As a Plant Controller you will:
  • Be the principal manager of the accounting activities of the US entity; responsible for maintaining appropriate internal controls
  • Be responsible for the preparation of accurate and timely monthly local financial statements, including the P&L and balance sheet, within three working days
  • Analyze and provide commentary on actual performance versus plan and forecast, with detailed insights into P&L line items and department expenses.
  • Proactively monitors monthly and quarterly financial performance and makes appropriate recommendations to achieve desired profit objectives
  • Assist in the control and reporting of the company's capital expenditure and fixed assets
  • Assist with year-end annual independent financial audit by ensuring deadlines are met, preparing required financial and tax schedules, and working directly with third party audit firm
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual operating Plan and local departmental budgets
  • Oversee all monthly, quarterly, and annual cost changes, and understand the impact of material, labor and overhead changes on inventory and the P&L
  • Lead cross-functional reviews to identify obsolete inventory and coordinate with departments to ensure the timely disposal and removal of identified parts
  • Collaborate on physical inventory counts, providing critical variance analysis to determine the P&L impact and ensure accurate valuation of on-hand stock
  • Collaborate closely with the inventory manager to gain a comprehensive understanding of the financial impact resulting from daily cycle counts
  • Be responsible for the Sr. Cost Accountant, Staff Accountant, and AP Lead
  • Manage, assigns and audits the work of all direct reports; provides semi-annual and annual performance reviews, evaluates performance against job requirements and established annual goals, provides daily coaching and training to develop world class Finance team
  • Act as a strategic business partner to the Operations team, delivering monthly expenditure reports to ensure alignment with Plan and forecast, while providing agile financial leadership and ad hoc analysis to support operation objectives
  • Be the finance lead on team related projects involving cost control/waste elimination/lean manufacturing principles
  • Assist the Sr Finance Manager and VP of Finance with additional projects and ad hoc analyses as needed

We are looking for someone who:
  • Holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Has 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in an international manufacturing environment
  • Is proficient in MS Office Suite, including intermediate to expert Excel skills; experience working with large data sets; able to manipulate and organize effectively and efficiently
  • Has knowledge and experience in ERP or MRP business system, with JD Edwards experience preferred
  • Has knowledge and experience with consolidation software/tools, with Adaptive Insights experience preferred
  • Is a strategic thinker, who can translate conceptual issues into tangible goals and tasks
  • Protects the organization's value by keeping information confidential

Ideally you will have:
  • Strong cost accounting knowledge and experience
  • CPA preferred�or the equivalent combination of work experience and skill development
  • Background in International reporting and understanding of US GAAP and currency adjustments
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with all levels of the company
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and judgment skills
  • Self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Organized and able to handle multiple ongoing responsibilities

What we offer you:
Typical pay is $98,000 - 128,000 annually.
