RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Observability Engineer in Boston, MA.
Responsibilities:
* Senior Observability Engineer will design, implement, and support enterprise monitoring and observability solutions for applications, infrastructure, and cloud environments
* Develop and maintain automation and infrastructure-as-code solutions to improve platform efficiency and scalability
* Create monitoring, alerting, and performance management strategies that enhance system reliability and operational visibility
* Support incident response, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and continuous service improvement efforts
* Partner with development, infrastructure, and operations teams to drive observability best practices and adoption
* As a Senior Observability Engineer, you will lead platform modernization initiatives and support the implementation of new monitoring capabilities
* Develop technical standards, documentation, and governance processes for monitoring and operational excellence
* Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance across engineering teams
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
* 5+ years of experience in platform engineering, systems monitoring, observability, or infrastructure support
* Strong background in automation, scripting, and infrastructure-as-code practices
* Experience designing and supporting enterprise monitoring, logging, alerting, and performance management solutions
* Experience supporting cloud-based and hybrid technology environments
* Experience collaborating with cross-functional engineering and operations teams
* Knowledge of application performance monitoring, telemetry, and operational analytics concepts
* Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and incident management skills
* Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences
* Ability to drive technical improvements, establish standards, and support large-scale technology initiatives
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
