Job description

Remora is seeking aย Senior Performanceย Analystย toย build the analytical foundation for our next-generation carbon capture fleet. This is a hands-on technical role responsible for designing the performance monitoring, reporting, and analytics framework that will supportย multipleย identical modular carbon capture systems paired with commercial natural gas generators. Working closely with controls, design, and systems engineers, you will transform operational and process data into scalable, automated analytics that enable commissioning, fleet monitoring, investor reporting, and predictive maintenance.

We're building modular carbon capture systems for vehicles - turning exhaust into beverage-grade CO2 sold to breweries and greenhouses. We deploy in regions facing severe CO2 shortages, where prices are highest, allowing us to generate high margins without tax credits or carbon credits.

We've signed up some of the largest companies in the world to pilot our technology, including iconic multibillion-dollar brands, top trucking companies, and some of the most recognizable Fortune 100 companies. We've raised multiple rounds of funding from top investors like Lowercarbon Capital, Union Square Ventures, First Round Capital, Y Combinator, and Valor Equity Partners.ย ย

Responsibilities:

  • Design and build the performance monitoring and reporting framework for Remora's carbon capture fleet,ย establishingย system baselinesย andย KPIsย fromย R&D andย commissioningย data.ย
  • Develop automated dashboards and reports including real-time operational views and periodic operational and investor-facing reports covering system availability, CO production, and energy efficiency.ย
  • Define KPI calculations, acceptable operating ranges, data sources, and reporting standards. ย
  • Partner with controls engineers to integrate analytics with Ignition SCADA and SQL historian infrastructure. ย
  • Collaborate closely with engineers to translate process knowledge into scalable analytics and develop fleet benchmarking capabilities.
  • Build anomaly detection and leading-indicator monitoring to identify emerging performance issues, evolving these models toward predictive maintenance capabilities as fleet data grows.
  • Support commissioning by developing tools that enable rapid validation and troubleshooting of new systems. ย

Requirementsย

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, orย a relatedย technical field.ย
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial analytics, performance engineering, data science, or similar technical roles. ย
  • Strong SQL experience working with large industrial or time-series datasets. ย
  • Proficiency in Python, R, or another scripting language for data analysis and statistical modeling.ย
  • Experience developing automated dashboards, reporting systems, and data visualization tools. ย
  • Strong understanding of statistical analysis, time-series data, anomaly detection, and process monitoring. ย
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering teams and translate complex technical concepts into scalable analytical solutions. ย
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.ย

Here'sย what we value:ย

  • Mission First:ย We are laser-focused on our mission. We have chosen to take on the defining challenge of our time, and weย don'tย shy away from theย hard decisionsย requiredย to put our mission first, no matter how tough. The world needs ourย technologyย and itย won'tย happen any time soon if weย don'tย make it happen. We are a low-ego team, and we prioritize the mission over our self-interest. We think strategically with an eye to the long term, and we clearly separate what must be done well now, and what can be improved later, despite ambiguity.ย
  • Burning Urgency:ย Our hard-core intensity and work ethic match the crisisย we'reย in. We have a strong bias toward action, and we execute with focus and speed. In the absence of guidance, we take charge, lead our teammates, andย accomplishย our goals. Weย aren'tย afraid to changeย courseย when somethingย isn'tย working, and we find solutions even when it seems like there are none. We are cool under pressure, and our quiet determination and drive are unwavering. We relentlessly push ourselves and each other to improve. Weย don'tย accept adequate performance. Excellenceย is the expectation. Many would say our standards are unreasonably high, and many would say our goals are unreasonably bold, but we are hungry to be exceptional. We will never give up, no matter what. If we get knocked down, we get backย up,ย every time. We will not fail.ย
  • Uncompromising Honesty:ย We are always honest with ourselves, our teammates, our customers, our investors, our suppliers, our communities, andย all ofย our partners, especially aboutย what'sย not going well and what weย don'tย know. When we see issues, risks, or challenges, we speak up, and when we make mistakes, we admit them proactively and take full accountability. We challenge others directly when we disagree, even whenย it'sย uncomfortable, and we seek this uncompromising honesty from others.ย
  • Treat People Exceptionally Well:ย We care intensely about everyone who is on this mission with us, and our standard is exceptional respect for our teammates, partners, and communities. Teammates who bring different perspectives and backgrounds are essential to our success, and we empower everyone to share theirย voice. We listen toย truly understand. We constantly encourage and help ourย teammates, andย inspire each other with our enthusiasm and optimism.ย
  • Joyful Curiosity:ย We love to learn, and we learn quickly. We explore the unknown with wonder and excitement. We reason fromย firstย principles. We generate original ideas with an open mind and test them quickly in the real world. We take risks and adapt as we discover more. We explore many ideas in parallel, and weย don'tย count on a silver bullet solution. We share our ideas freely with our teammates. We are skeptical about conventional wisdom, and we question every assumption and requirement. We are always looking for ways to simplify. We are rigorous and attentive to detail. We are eager to understand all aspects of our business and technology, and we contribute effectively outside our individual specialties. We never stop learning.ย
