Paving Foreman
Job Overview
The Paving Foreman will supervise and coordinate the activities of workers engaged in paving and resurfacing roads, parking areas, and other surfaces. This role ensures projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with specifications and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise crews in the preparation, laying, and finishing of asphalt and concrete surfaces.
  • Plan daily work schedules and assign specific tasks to team members.
  • Monitor job site to ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Inspect completed work for conformance to specifications and direct corrective actions if necessary.
  • Coordinate delivery and usage of materials, equipment, and tools.
  • Maintain accurate records of project progress, labor hours, and materials used.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and improve processes.
  • Provide training and guidance to crew members, fostering a productive and respectful work environment.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in paving, construction, or a related field.
  • Prior supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of paving techniques, materials, and equipment operation.
  • Strong understanding of workplace safety and OSHA regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
  • Physical ability to work outdoors and perform tasks requiring strength and stamina.
  • Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's degree or relevant vocational certification.
  • Experience with public works or municipal projects.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish.
  • First aid/CPR certification.
