Job description

Job Title: RETAIL ASSOCIATE
Location: Camarillo, CA
Department: Corporate Owned Store
Status: Regular, Part-Time
Schedule: Flexible, Evenings & Weekends
FLSA Category: Non-Exempt
Reports to: Store Manager
Relevant Work Experience: 6+ months
POSITION SUMMARY: The Retail Associate works directly with customers and consistently demonstrates a high level of customer service.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Provide excellent customer care including greeting, providing samples, answering questions, and informing every customer of store promotions.
  • Demonstrates and explains products, selecting and suggesting options suitable for the customer's needs.
  • Stock, merchandise and rotate product to ensure quality standards and sufficient supplies are maintained from the sales floor, stock room, or other inventory locations; places special orders as needed.
  • Collects payment using the store point-of-sale system.
  • Cook and/or hand dip store made product to meet store requirement and order demands.
  • Perform cleaning duties in compliance with food safety standards and to demonstrate a high level of store appearance and cleanliness.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Provide excellent customer care including greeting and sampling every customer, informing every customer of store promotions, and demonstrating knowledge of product.
  • Take phone and in-person orders from customers and fulfill product orders.
  • Operate point of sale register in an accurate manner, ensuring proper and consistent usage of discount and promotion buttons, and maintaining accurate cash and sales balances.
  • Stock, merchandise, and rotate product to ensure quality standards and sufficient supplies are maintained.
  • Cook and/or hand dip store made product to meet store requirement and order demands.
  • Perform cleaning duties in compliance with food safety standards and to demonstrate a high level of store appearance and cleanliness.
  • Miscellaneous department related tasks as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to follow cooking instructions.
  • Ability to operate or quickly learn the store's point-of-sale system and handle all forms of payment in an accurate manner.
  • Excellent verbal communication and active listening skills.
  • Strong sales and customer service skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and perform assigned tasks accurately.
  • Basic knowledge of product offering or willingness to learn product information.

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:
  • Must be able to move throughout the shift including behind customer counters, around cooking tables and in stock room, frequently lift up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, bend, reach away from the body and above waist level, and grasp small objects, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to work independently during slower business periods when required.
  • Preference given to those 18+ years
