If you are a hardworking, safety conscious and reliable individual who enjoys working outdoors and in the sunlight, then join our team as a Ride Operator at Diggerland USA! We are seeking diligent and attentive Ride Operators who will be responsible for the safe operation of a given ride or series of rides throughout the park. You will follow all delegated tasks assigned by Rides Management and maintain all aspects of the Diggerland USA "Friendly, Clean, Fast, Safe Service" mantra while on the job. As an active team member of the Operations Division and the Rides Department, you will also be in direct and continuous interaction with guests, leads coworkers, and supervisors on a daily basis. For whom you will maintain a clean and safe environment at all times. Must be at least 16 years of age.
Position Summary (including but not limited to):
  • Comply with all the policies and procedures of Diggerland USA
  • Assist guests and always operate the ride in a safe and responsible manner
  • ensure the safety of all our guests, you will enforce policies specific to the attraction you are in charge of in regards to what guests can bring on, what they're allowed to wear and body proportions

Additional responsibilities for the Ride Operator include:
  • Filling out a pre-opening inspection checklist for the ride you are assigned to
  • Checking to make sure that all the communication functions for your assigned ride work properly
  • Checking height and other rider based restrictions
  • Checking all guests' restraints
  • Communicating with guests when the ride is not in motion
  • Cleaning the ride units
  • Closing down the ride
  • Have excellent multi-tasking skills
  • Prioritizes and performs a variety of concurrent tasks with minimal direction

Requirements:
As a Ride Operator for Diggerland USA, you must be able to read and understand the ride manual, learn to operate the ride from our training staff, and following the safety procedures. Study the procedures and proper operational techniques of the park and follow them in every relevant situation. You must also be focused as a Ride Operator and cycle people through the attraction efficiently and cautiously.
  • Must be responsible and able to follow instructions.
  • Must be a team player and able to work well with the other team members and management team.
  • Must be flexible regarding scheduling based on business demands including but not limited to weekends, holidays, and special events.
  • Need to be flexible and able to multi task.
  • Responsible for the promotion of a safe and professional workplace through adhering to policies and procedures as outlined in the Diggerland USA handbook.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous customer service or guest focused experience
  • Full availability on weekends, holidays and special events.

Physical Demand:
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work in a loud environment with flashing lights.
  • Must be able to tolerate working in hot or cold weather
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Comments:
  • Driver's License is not required.
  • Should be well groomed, neat, and polite.
  • Daily work hours are subject to change throughout the park operating season due to attendance, weather, or unforeseen circumstances.
