Job Title: Sr. Operations Support Specialist
Location: Chester, VA (100% Onsite)
Alternative Location: Warrenton, VA (100% Onsite)
Duration: Contract through End of Year (with possible extensions)
Rate: $30 - $40/hr (W2)
Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States now and in the future without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
Position Overview
We are seeking a Sr. Operations Support Specialist to provide technical, operational, and leadership support to field operations teams within a natural gas distribution environment. This role will support process improvement initiatives, operational compliance, workforce planning, and strategic operational activities while partnering closely with field leadership and key stakeholders.
The ideal candidate has strong experience within natural gas distribution field operations, operational support systems, process improvement, and compliance coordination, along with the ability to lead initiatives and support operational excellence across multiple functions.
Required Qualifications
  • 4-6+ years of experience in natural gas distribution field operations
  • Experience utilizing operations support systems including WMS and DIS (or equivalent systems)
  • Experience gathering, analyzing, and interpreting operational data
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, including spreadsheets and basic formulas
  • Working knowledge of plant/service operations policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local operational regulations and codes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to independently organize, schedule, and prioritize work
  • Demonstrated leadership and facilitation skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience delivering training and evaluation programs
  • Supervisory experience or demonstrated operational leadership
  • Experience leading project management or process improvement teams
  • Experience supporting operational technology implementations
  • Continuous improvement or operational excellence experience

  • Assist in development and rollout of operational training programs and initiatives
