Senior Risk Analyst, Enterprise Risk Management
The Opportunity
The Senior Risk Analyst will support the execution and continuous enhancement of the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program. This role contributes to the identification, assessment, monitoring, and reporting of key economic, strategic, operational, reporting, and compliance risks.
The position plays a key role in supporting a consistent, scalable risk management process that informs decision-making and supports the achievement of Smurfit Westrock's strategic objectives. Responsibilities include supporting the facilitation of risk assessments, maintaining the enterprise risk register, developing executive and Board-level reporting, and collaborating with business leaders across the organization.
This role will also help strengthen linkages between enterprise risks, mitigation plans, emerging risk monitoring, and internal audit activities.
How You Will Impact Smurfit Westrock
  • Support the execution and ongoing enhancement of the ERM program, including risk identification, assessment, prioritization, and monitoring
  • Coordinate enterprise risk assessments, including risk owner interviews, analysis of inputs, and documentation of changes in risk exposure and mitigation status
  • Maintain and enhance the enterprise risk register to confirm accuracy, consistency, and alignment with business and strategic priorities
  • Contribute to the development of clear, concise, and executive-ready reporting materials for senior leadership and the Board/Audit Committee
  • Analyze internal and external trends (e.g., macroeconomic, regulatory, geopolitical, sustainability, and industry developments) to identify and assess emerging risks
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to document key risks, evaluate mitigation strategies, and identify potential improvement opportunities
  • Support the development of ERM methodologies, tools, and governance processes to enhance consistency, transparency, and efficiency
  • Connect principal risks to strategic initiatives, business planning activities, and internal audit coverage to improve visibility and risk insights
  • Contribute to strategic analyses, presentations, and ad-hoc projects related to enterprise risk and internal audit
  • Promote risk awareness through effective collaboration and communication

What You Need to Succeed
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Risk, or a related field Management
  • 3+ years of experience in enterprise risk management, internal audit, public accounting, finance, compliance, or a related role
  • Experience supporting risk assessments, internal audits, or cross-functional business processes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear insights
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of executive-level materials
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work in a dynamic environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
