In the Senior Financial Analyst role you would focus on driving excellence by elevating financial management practices across People & Culture (P&C) and Corporate Citizenship & Communications (CC&C), ensuring alignment with TELUS's overall financial strategy. A key priority is promoting transparency through enhanced financial accountability, providing leaders with the insights they need to make informed decisions. The position also emphasizes the importance of innovation by implementing innovative financial solutions that support departmental needs while maintaining consistency with corporate standards. Additionally, the role requires collaboration on cross-functional initiatives that enhance TELUS's financial performance and operational efficiency.

What you'll do

  • Lead the financial operations and reporting, including month-end activities, reconciliations, KPI analysis, and variance explanations

  • Drive continuous improvement through trend analysis, forecasting optimization, and process automation while ensuring policy adherence and risk mitigation

  • Spearhead budgeting, forecasting, and rolling forecasts aligned with strategic objectives (including Triage, Annual Budget & Strat Check, and headcount forecasting)

  • Deliver strategic financial analysis to business unit leaders and serve as OpEx prime, providing executive-level insights and implementing process improvements

  • Support the development of a dedicated team member enrolled in the Financial Management Development Program and build financial capability across the team

Qualifications

What you bring

  • 3-5 years of financial analysis, accounting, forecasting, budgeting, or business partnering experience with deep knowledge of TELUS systems and processes
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation (or close to completion)
  • Exceptional collaboration and influence across all organizational levels; clear communication and compelling storytelling for executive audiences
  • Strong problem-solving, execution, and time management capabilities with ability to prioritize competing demands
  • Technical proficiency with Excel, Google Sheets, PowerPoint, Google Slides, SAP, and Hyperion

Great-to-haves

  • Experience working with or supporting Enabler Business Groups
  • Experience with financial modelling
  • Experience with change management and driving adoption of new financial processes or systems, including leveraging AI tools and automation
