Job description

Lead Occupational Therapist โ€“ Pediatrics

Location: Durham, NC & Chapel Hill, NC

Salary: $80,000 โ€“ $85,000 per year

Schedule: Full-Time

Our client is currently hiring a Lead Occupational Therapist to provide pediatric services across both clinic and community settings. This role offers the opportunity to take a leadership position within a multidisciplinary environment, working closely with a team of Occupational Therapists and Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) to deliver high-quality, client-centered care for children with physical, emotional, developmental, or mental health challenges.

The Lead OT will work under the supervision of the Clinical Director and is expected to model professionalism, clinical excellence, and a commitment to mentorship and growth within the team.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide supervision, support, and performance evaluation for pediatric OTs and COTAs.
  • Develop and update individualized treatment programs tailored to various pediatric needs.
  • Ensure team adherence to clinic-wide protocols, documentation standards, and safety guidelines.
  • Mentor new hires and interns, facilitating their onboarding and clinical development.
  • Support professional development through training opportunities and education planning.
  • Participate in scheduling, workflow management, and filling in for schedule needs when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure all services comply with legal and insurance standards.
  • Offer hands-on guidance with complex cases and provide resources on treatment techniques.
  • Facilitate the implementation of new clinic-wide initiatives related to quality and compliance.

Requirements:
  • Master's degree or higher in Occupational Therapy
  • Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
  • Licensed Occupational Therapist in the state of North Carolina
  • At least 3 years of clinical experience in pediatric occupational therapy
  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience overseeing OTs or COTAs
