About the Role

In this position, you'll bring clarity to complex financial data, ensure regulatory compliance, and partner with leaders across the organization to support clean energy operations, growth, and innovation.

What You'll Do
You will serve as a trusted financial expert, responsible for delivering accurate, insightful, and timely accounting and analysis across the business. Key responsibilities include:
  • Own the financial story by managing general and sub ledger activity, ensuring accurate recording of complex transactions, allocations, and cost accounting activities.
  • Drive month end close excellence, preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analyses to deliver reliable financial statements.
  • Navigate complexity with confidence by researching and applying GAAP and regulatory guidance to ensure proper accounting treatment of expenditures.
  • Support regulatory and external reporting, including SEC filings, audits, rate cases, and regulatory testimony-providing data, schedules, and analytical insights.
  • Analyze what matters most, identifying risks and opportunities through deep variance analysis, margin estimates, cash flow insights, and forecast development.
  • Partner across the business, collaborating with Shared Services, Treasury, Operations, Rates, Internal Controls, auditors, and regulatory teams.
  • Present with impact, clearly communicating financial results, variances, and implications to Accounting Leadership and senior management.
  • Strengthen the foundation, maintaining internal controls, supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, maintaining master data, and contributing to revenue and cost accounting.

What We're Looking For
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting best practices
  • Experience working with large, complex data sets and translating data into actionable insights
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems (SAP experience preferred)
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
  • Clear, confident communicator-comfortable presenting to leadership

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field required
  • 4+ years of relevant accounting experience required
  • Energy, utility, industrial, capital markets, or trading industry experience preferred
