Job Description
Honeywell has a century of expertise in energy innovation and technology across numerous sectors including natural gas, petrochemicals, and emerging energy technologies like renewable fuels, hydrogen, carbon capture and energy storage. Energy markets are highly impacted by political; policy and economic trends and successful businesses must engage with governments and other organizations to ensure optimal policy and regulatory environments for growth and success of their technologies. To ensure that we achieve our growth objectives, the company is currently recruiting for a new and strategically important role for Government Relations (GR) Senior Director, US Energy Policy and Funding, who will be accountable for developing, coordinating and driving policy advocacy and government-related project pursuits in the US. The role will be responsible for supporting business growth by providing strong leadership and vision in developing policy and government funding objectives in partnership with business and government relations leaders, and execution of those objectives.
The successful candidate will partner with business leaders and GR colleagues to elevate Honeywell's profile among senior level stakeholders, effectively identify and shape policy outcomes to support profitable growth, and help secure government funding for customers in a complex, fast paced, highly competitive environment while enabling a passionate team committed to success. As a change agent, the Senior Director, Govern will work closely with a multi-functional team to inject a sense of urgency, innovation, drive execution and be a strong partner in advocacy and business development activities.
The new incumbent will have previous experience in achieving significant policy outcomes that enable business growth in US energy markets for a major multinational company, building relationships with key government officials in targeted markets and coordinating with a team of business and government relations professional to secure growth objectives. The new incumbent will have a deep understanding of energy policy across sectors, US government structures, and possess a wide network among a range of key stakeholders. Due to Honeywell's corporate structure and reporting model, he/she will demonstrate a high level of maturity and ability to achieve results through influence and relationship management rather than direct authority.

He/she is expected to continuously enhance the company's image and reputation and therefore its ability to influence policy makers.
• Maintain stewardship of Honeywell's US energy policy vision in partnership with GR peers, corporate senior management and business leaders.
• Directly and as a partner to US and global regional GR teams develop, protect, and nurture government, industry, NGO and customer relationships in the US market to drive desired outcomes for Honeywell's energy technology portfolio.

• A global thinker who possesses the ability to critically assess alternative opportunities and exercise proper business judgment from an owner's perspective.
• An action-oriented mindset driven to produce results.
• Must have strong communication skills and executive presence, as the position will require extensive communication with senior Honeywell executives, engagement with top level government officials and industry executives, and serve as an external thought leader.
