ValidaTek is searching for a Rapid Response Team Sr. Network Engineer who will act as the Subject Matter Expert for the configuration, security, and troubleshooting of the network framework that supports a large DoD IT infrastructure program providing a common view for all enterprise-wide users.  As part of the Rapid Response Team, the Sr. Network Engineer will focus on the optimization of the network framework to prevent system intrusions and respond with urgency when a breach occurs. 


The Sr. Network Engineer will:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all security incidents and breaches, leading the response and overseeing troubleshooting and resolution to address the issue. Urgency will be of utmost importance as will the quality of response.
  • Focus on the prevention and safeguarding against future breaches and incidents. The Sr. Network Engineer will keep current on best practices and make recommendations to upgrade systems and processes and then oversee the implementation of recommendations.
  • Oversee and plan system configuration, utilizing an in-depth knowledge of best practices and protocols necessary to maintain and optimize network configuration and security.

To be considered for this position, candidates must have the following:

  • 3+ years in a primary role operating, troubleshooting, installing network routers and switches, primary role designing, architecting routed and switched networks, and at least 3+ years in a DoD IT environment.
  • Proven performance as a subject matter expert in network configuration that emphasizes optimization and system security.
  • At least one nationally recognized certification for senior network administrators/engineers/architects tied to the proposed solution’s routers and switches.
  • Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level III certification in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M
  • IAT Level III certification must be obtained within 120 days after start date.
  • All candidates must have a current TS/SCI clearance.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Engineering or Equivalent is required; a master’s degree is preferred.

USD $95,577.60/Yr.
USD $159,296.00/Yr.
Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, geographic location, contract affordability, internal equity, education, and certifications.
The upper end of the salary range may be reserved for individuals who have demonstrated tenure with the company, seniority, and proven excellent performance. This includes factors such as education, certifications, and extensive/unique experience beyond what is required.
