Job Summary:

The Network Operations Specialist I is responsible for providing technical solutions and support in the management of network software, hardware, configurations, and architectures. This role involves planning, installing, and maintaining network systems across multiple classifications, monitoring network performance, and troubleshooting complex issues to ensure operational efficiency and high-quality transmission service. The specialist uses subject matter expertise to diagnose and resolve issues, with some authority to deviate from standard operating procedures when necessary.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical solutions and support for network management, including software, hardware, configurations, and architectures.
  • Manage network control software, routers, switches, lines, modems, adapters, and servers.
  • Plan, install, and maintain network systems for multiple classifications, ensuring they meet operational requirements.
  • Monitor network performance, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues to maintain operating efficiency.
  • Use subject matter expertise to diagnose and resolve network issues, with the ability to deviate from standard procedures when necessary.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of network systems in compliance with MTC services and security standards.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current technologies and products relevant to network operations and security.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field. An additional five years of experience as a Network Administrator can be substituted for the lack of a degree.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in network operations or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of network troubleshooting and support, operating systems, applications, and network management.
  • Working knowledge of current technologies and products for MTC services and security.
  • Must possess a SECRET clearance.
  • Required IT certifications: IAT II, in accordance with (IAW) 8570.00 and 8570.01.


Skills:

  • Expertise in managing network control software, routers, switches, and other network hardware.
  • Ability to monitor network performance and quickly resolve complex technical issues.
  • Proficiency in planning, installing, and maintaining secure and efficient network systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to use discretion in deviating from standard procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members and other stakeholders.


Work Environment:

  • This position may involve work in a secure and classified environment.
  • Ability to work independently under general supervision, with a focus on delivering high-quality network solutions.

Fort Stewart, GA- relocation assistance is not available for this position.
