Position Summary
As a Senior Software Engineer - Digital Products, you will play a key role within the Digital Product team, driving the design, development, and delivery of scalable SaaS solutions and digital products. You will collaborate closely with Product Managers, Data Teams, UX/UI Designers, Quality Engineers, and Infrastructure Teams to ensure our products are technically sound, user-focused, and aligned with business goals.
You will lead technical design and implementation for medium to large-sized digital initiatives, contribute to architectural decisions, and guide a team of engineers on best practices. You will actively participate in discovery, framing, iterative development, and continuous improvement of digital products, helping to translate product vision into high-quality, maintainable solutions.
This position is based out of our corporate offices in Reading. PA. This an office first position, at least 4 days in office.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead engineering efforts across the full product lifecycle (discovery, framing, design, development, testing, release, and support) in alignment with the SVPG product framework.
• Collaborate with Product Managers to translate product vision, user needs, and data insights into technical requirements and actionable development plans.
• Design and recommend scalable, reusable, and maintainable software architectures for digital and SaaS applications.
• Guide engineering teams in adopting modern development best practices, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native approaches.
• Partner with cross-functional teams (Data, QA, Design, Infrastructure) to ensure solutions are secure, performant, and meet business objectives.
• Participate in design and deploy tollgate reviews, gaining buy-in from Architects, QA, Security, and Operations.
• Mentor and coach engineers, providing technical guidance, code reviews, and feedback to support professional growth.
• Oversee multiple medium to large-sized projects, ensuring on-time delivery and alignment with quality standards.
• Troubleshoot and optimize software performance, resolving technical issues in production and pre-release environments.
• Document systems, architecture, and dependencies to maintain clarity and knowledge sharing across teams.
• Conduct technical interviews and contribute to hiring decisions for the Digital Product Engineering team.
Qualifications
Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience; Master's preferred.
• 10+ years of software development experience, including full-stack development for SaaS or digital products.
• Proficiency in modern web technologies and frameworks: React, Angular, jQuery, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Spring/Spring-MVC, myBatis, RESTful APIs.
• 2-4 years of experience contributing to Agile product teams; 1-2 years leading medium to large digital projects.
• Experience in designing cloud-native, scalable, and reusable architectures for enterprise-grade SaaS applications.
• Strong knowledge of the software development lifecycle, design patterns, and architectural best practices.
• Ability to take ownership of multiple applications and prioritize work in a fast-paced digital environment.
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with Product, Design, Data, and Infrastructure teams.
• Experience in mentoring engineers, conducting technical interviews, and developing high-performing teams.
• Understanding of SVPG Product Operating Model principles, including discovery, framing, and iterative delivery.
• Ability to estimate project timelines, define technical requirements, and guide teams to successful outcomes.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
