Job Summary:
Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond is seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Automation Engineer to bridge the gap between traditional networking and modern software engineering. This role is pivotal in supporting the automation lifecycle for critical business lines and ensuring the network infrastructure remains agile, secure, and resilient.
Responsibilities:
โข Lead End-to-End Development: Design, test, and implement complex automation solutions in a NextJS, JavaScript and Python environment. Support legacy software within a Java SpringBoot, OpenShift environment
โข Technical Leadership: Direct the work of junior developers, conduct rigorous code reviews, and ensure the architectural integrity of all programming tasks.
โข Lifecycle Management: Guide projects through the full release cycle, including security compliance, architectural design reviews, and production readiness testing.
โข System Integration: Build and maintain high-performance integrations between internal and external systems using MuleSoft API Gateways, and ServiceNow.
โข UI Modernization: Create intuitive, user-friendly interfaces for self-service network management tools using Angular.
โข Operational Support: Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to ensure the continuous availability of critical automation services.
Qualifications:
Required:
โข 6 to 9 years of experience at the Senior level, and 3 to 5 years of experience at the Experienced level.
โข Advanced proficiency in Java, NextJS and JavaScript with a focus on API-driven connectivity.
โข Proven experience building and maintaining self-service tools, bonuses for network infrastructure.
โข Expertise in AWS architecture and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
โข Hands-on experience with Angular for developing modern, responsive dashboards.
โข Deep knowledge of MuleSoft and multi-threaded development for high-throughput operations. ServiceNow for ITSM responsibilities.
โข Experience deploying and managing applications in Red Hat OpenShift.
โข CI/CD experience, with additional knowledge in GitHub/GitLab, Maven and Jenkins.
