Job description

Overview

Designs and maintains DOD computer systems and networks to ensure operational security and protect data from internal and external threats. Reviews network/system configurations to ensure compliance and creates recommendations in line with security and governmental regulations. 

Pay Range $82,500-131,000

The pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, geographic location, and any applicable laws.

Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain customer (DoD) network multi-vendor environment (Cisco, Juniper, Brocade).    
  • Monitor, evaluate, and maintain network and system security, to include: reviewing network/system configurations to ensure compliance with security requirements, investigating security violations and recommending solutions, crafting and recommending security policies and procedures, providing recommendations for product upgrades, patches, and general security measures, handling/tracking COMSEC material, and staying apprised of security best practices.  
  • Maintain system security status and ensure compliance with security policies, procedures, and standards in accordance with Risk Management Framework (RMF).   
  • Provide network/system vulnerability scanning via Host Based Security System (HBSS) and DISA Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) tools.  
  • Partner with end users to configure the network for multicast, broadcast, etc. functionality.  
  • Provide reports to internal and external customers in response to queries and requests.   
  • Other duties as assigned.  
Qualifications

Education/Experience 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or relevant field. Additional experience may substitute for degree.   
  • 6-12 years of relevant experience.   
  • Experience working with system/network vulnerability scanning tools required.   
  • Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining DoD network in a multi-vendor environment.   
  • An active CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification, preferred.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), or Juniper Networks Certified Associate (JNCIA-Junos) is a plus. 
  • An active DoD Secret Security Clearance and the ability to maintain a clearance is required.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.

  • Regular i3 hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday, however, additional hours may be required on occasion. Regular and punctual attendance is required.
