Your Role as the Support Nurse (LPN)

Assisted Living | Short-Term Assignments

Americare Senior Living is seeking a flexible and compassionate Support Nurse (LPN) to provide resident care during short-term assignments across our Assisted Living communities.

In this role, you'll render direct nursing care while supporting community teams during periods of transition, coverage needs, or additional support. Under the direction of senior leadership, you'll help maintain a home-like, person-centered environment while supervising caregiving staff to ensure residents' physical, psychological, and social needs are met.

This role is ideal for a nurse who adapts quickly, enjoys variety, and wants to make a meaningful impact across multiple communities.


Summary

The Support Nurse (LPN or RN) provides direct resident care and short-term clinical support to Assisted Living communities as assigned.

This role supports continuity of care, staff supervision, and resident well-being while ensuring compliance with state regulations, Americare policies, and best practices in person-centered care.


This role may also be known as:

Support Nurse, Float Nurse, Assisted Living Support Nurse, Interim Nurse, Travel Nurse, or Resident Care Support Nurse.


What You'll Do
  • Provide direct nursing care to residents during short-term assignments
  • Support a home-like, person-centered care environment
  • Supervise and support caregiving staff to meet residents' physical, psychological, and social needs
  • Assist with resident assessments, care planning, and monitoring of changes in condition
  • Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and established protocols
  • Collaborate with community leadership and senior leadership during assigned support periods
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Promote resident dignity, safety, and quality of life

What You BringEducation
  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing
Licensure / Certification
  • Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license required
  • Maintains current state registration and required continuing education
Experience & Skills
  • Experience in assisted living, memory care, or long-term care preferred
  • Strong clinical judgment and adaptability
  • Ability to supervise staff and work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams
