Senior Software Developer
Location: London, ON or Winnipeg, MB
Work Model: Hybrid (3 days per week onsite)
Contract Term: June 29, 2026 to December 31, 2026
Hourly Rate: $85-95
About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer to design, develop, and support enterprise software solutions across a diverse technology landscape. This role offers the opportunity to work with both modern and legacy platforms while contributing to critical business applications that support operational excellence and customer experience.
The successful candidate will collaborate with developers, architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, high-quality software solutions while providing technical leadership and mentorship to development teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, integration, testing, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise software applications.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to developers, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with architects, analysts, and cross functional teams to define and implement technical solutions.
- Modernize and migrate legacy applications to web-based and cloud-native solutions.
- Identify and implement permanent solutions to recurring technical issues.
- Provide production support, application monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
- Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technology roadmaps.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and promote software development best practices.
- Deliver reliable, scalable, and secure solutions that align with organizational standards.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive experience in software development within enterprise environments.
- Strong proficiency with as many of the following technologies as possible:
- .NET Core
- C#
- Python
- React / ReactJS
- VBA
- PowerShell and other scripting languages
- Experience migrating legacy applications, including Microsoft Access and on-premises solutions, to modern web and cloud platforms.
- Experience developing solutions in Azure and/or AWS cloud environments.
- Strong knowledge of software architecture principles and development best practices.
- Experience with relational and hierarchical databases, including:
- Microsoft SQL Server
- DB2
- Entity Framework
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Windows environments and/or mainframe platforms.
- Experience with source control and development tools, including:
- GitLab
- SVN
- Visual Studio
- VS Code
- Experience using collaboration and project management tools, including:
- Jira
- Confluence
- SharePoint
- Microsoft Teams
- Experience with:
- MOVEit
- PowerShell automation
- Application monitoring and production support
- Proven track record of successfully leading software development initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Enhanced Reliability Clearance.
- Candidates who are Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents with a minimum of five years residing in Canada.
- Experience working within highly regulated enterprise environments.
- Previous experience mentoring junior and intermediate developers.
