Role Purpose
Seeking a highly skilled Senior Maintenance Mechanic for our Process Safety Management (PSM) regulated facility. The ideal candidate will oversee the installation, preventative maintenance, predictive maintenance, and corrective repair of complex industrial dynamic and stationary equipment to ensure safe, reliable plant operations.
Responsibilities- Dynamic Equipment Maintenance: Service, repair, and maintain dynamic equipment including electric motors, pumps, bearings, couplings, and turbomachinery.
- Mechanical Seals & Valves: Install and troubleshoot mechanical seals and seal systems. Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair valves, including packing and gasket replacements.
- Diagnostics & Testing: Utilize advanced diagnostic tools (laser alignment, tachometers, pyrometers, strobe meters) and precision measuring tools to trend data and perform root-cause troubleshooting.
- Technical Documentation: Read and interpret P&IDs, PFDs, Isometrics (ISOs), blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Rigging & Mobile Equipment: Perform material handling and rigging using standardized crane hand signals. Operate mobile equipment, including forklifts, manlifts, air compressors, and generators.
- Work Order & PSM Compliance: Develop scope for equipment overhauls. Create work requests, log accurate repair/inspection documentation, and complete closeouts in CMMS per PSM standards.
- General Maintenance: Maintain general familiarity with refinery equipment (heat exchangers, vessels, drums, piping circuits, heaters). Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Schedule Flexibility: Support plant outages, flexible working hours, and on-call rotation as required.
Qualifications- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate Degree or Technical School preferred.
- 8+ years of total work-related mechanical experience.
- 3+ years of direct experience within a refining, petrochemical, or PSM-regulated continuous process facility.
- NCCER Certification as an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic or Millwright.
- Advanced proficiency in pump troubleshooting, gearbox repairs, compressor maintenance, and motor alignment in a plant/terminal environment.
- Hands-on experience utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Authorization to work legally in the U.S.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, and handle tools.
- Must be able to regularly lift and move up to 50 lbs.
- Must be comfortable working outdoors in elevated ambient temperatures.
- Visual acuity for depth perception, close vision, peripheral vision, and color recognition.
