Job description

The Company

ColoradoCrete is the market leader for gypsum underlayment systems and leveling services in Colorado. With decades of shared industry experience, we are a trusted partner to General Contractors across the residential and commercial construction markets. We operate in a highly specialized area of construction, providing solutions that require technical expertise, precision, and strong coordination between the team and its customers.

We are a lean, experienced team where people have direct access to senior leadership and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact. As the company continues to grow, we’re looking for people who want to take ownership, improve how things are done, and help build what's next.

The Position

We are seeking an experienced, operations-minded Senior Estimator to take ownership of estimating for residential and commercial construction projects across Colorado.

This is more than a traditional desk-based estimating position. We’re looking for someone who understands how construction actually happens in the field and can connect estimating decisions to project execution. The Senior Estimator will review plans, develop accurate and competitive bids, follow up on those bids, communicate directly with General Contractors, and partner closely with the operations team as projects move from estimate through completion.

Direct experience with ColoradoCrete’s specific products is not required. What matters most is significant construction experience, strong estimating fundamentals, operational judgment, the ability to confidently own projects and relationships, and a desire to grow in a thriving organization.

Responsibilities

  • Own the estimating process for residential and commercial construction projects, developing accurate, competitive estimates and proposals from initial bid through award.
  • Review construction drawings, architectural plans, specifications, and bid documents, performing detailed quantity takeoffs and determining material, labor, equipment, and other project costs.
  • Develop project budgets and pricing while identifying scope gaps, risks, and cost considerations before bids are submitted.
  • Manage multiple bids simultaneously, maintaining strong organization, accuracy, responsiveness, and complete estimating and contract documentation.
  • Communicate directly with General Contractors to review scope, clarify requirements, answer questions, follow up on bids, and build strong customer relationships.
  • Partner with leadership and operations to transition awarded work from estimating to execution and provide project management support around scope, schedule, budget, and customer expectations as needed.
  • Use platforms including Procore, Autodesk, and Buildertrend to access plans, ITBs, and project information, along with ColoradoCrete’s internal scheduling and customer management systems.
  • Bring a practical, field-oriented perspective to the role, identifying opportunities to improve estimating processes, efficiency, and profitability while building strong relationships with customers, vendors, and the internal team.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in construction, with significant experience in estimating, project management, field operations, or a combination of these areas.
  • Proven ability to develop accurate construction estimates, budgets, bids, and proposals through an organized estimating process.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Solid understanding of construction sequencing, labor, materials, scheduling, and field operations.
  • Experience working for a General Contractor, specialty contractor, or larger construction organization is highly valued.
  • Bidding and preconstruction experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and comfort learning construction and estimating technology.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to confidently interact with General Contractors, customers, field teams, and senior leadership.
  • Highly organized and capable of managing multiple projects and priorities without sacrificing attention to detail.
  • Practical, operations-minded approach with a willingness to be hands-on and engaged in the day-to-day business.
  • Experience with gypsum underlayment or specialty concrete is not required.

Salary + Benefits

  • $130,000-140,000 per year DOE
  • Performance Bonus
  • 401(k) + matching
  • Dental insurance
  • Health insurance
  • Life insurance
  • Paid time off
  • Vision insurance
