Job description

Hours: full-time (37.5 hours per week), Monday through Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm

Location: Lynchburg, VA 24501

Position Summary:

The Senior Data Analyst is responsible for the design and development of agency-wide software applications in various software as a service (SaaS) platform used by behavioral health programs and administrative units. This position serves an important role in implementation of MIS/EHR features and modules including customization of data elements and file formats, data process design, and development of institutional and department reports.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Health Information Systems, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university. An equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered.
  • Five years of experience supporting, configuring, analyzing, managing data, and/or reporting on enterprise business applications, healthcare information systems, EHR platforms, or comparable software systems.
  • Experience in behavioral healthcare, healthcare, public sector, or regulated environment preferred.
  • Experience with Project Management is a plus and experience with a clinical EHR system is preferred.

Related Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of comprehensive Management Information Systems
  • Working technical knowledge of a variety of programming languages, analytic and IDE studios. Including but not limited to HTML, Python, .NET, and Power BI.
  • Full understanding of database structures and complex SQL programming and ETL development.
  • Understanding of Cloud Based or Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) applications and backend architecture.
  • Ability to communicate technical ideas and concepts effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to author and maintain thorough documentation for a variety of audiences including but not limited to system support, business requirements, end-user guides, etc.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with end users through platforms such as MS Teams and Jira, IT technical staff and developers, as well as leadership to identify system needs and opportunities to enhance operational objectives and outcomes.
  • Ability to apply technical information and skills to various systems and networks in use with ease.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and operational requirements, including occasionally modified work schedules.
  • Ability to drive and possess a valid driver’s license. May be called upon to travel to any Horizon worksite; transport clients, provide services to client @other locations.
  • Regular attendance at trainings and Horizon meetings may require travel to a variety of Horizon sites.
  • Ability to promote positive, collaborative, and professional working relations among co-workers and representatives in the community.
  • Ability to work in and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to respond effectively to changes in the work environment in a positive and professional manner.
  • Ability to identify and measure outcomes.
  • Willing and available to work modified schedules (weekends, holiday, etc.) as required.
