Project Management Specialist (Associate or Mid-Level)

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for an Associate or Mid-Level Project Management Specialist to join the Boeing Rapid Space Capabilities Program Management team in Albuquerque, NM.

This Project Management Specialist will work with a multidisciplinary team supporting design, build, operations and maintenance of mission support facilities. The selected candidate will be a key team member supporting design and construction, project management and critical infrastructure operations and maintenance. In this role, you will work directly with industry-leading design-build partners to establish and maintain advanced mission support facilities. Clear and concise, written and oral communication of complex subjects to Boeing leadership and customer program management is required.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Supports preparation, development, coordination, scheduling, and change management activities of maintaining an integrated plan to meet program and/or construction project requirements and statement of work in accordance with project management industry standards.

  • Participates in maintaining, analyzing and producing Construction Earned Value Management System (EVMS) metrics related to plans. Assists more experienced personnel with risk assessments, developing mitigation plan and refining the business case.

  • Develops, collects, organizes and provides data, updates task, to maintain status of programs, schedule, customer and supplier commitments and compliance.

  • Coordinates document work statements and resulting schedules.

  • Assists with conducting 30/60/90% design reviews and produces briefings at each stage for the customer.

  • Performs configuration audits as required. Coordinates with base host to ensure all project personnel are credentialed to enter a controlled worksite.

  • Identifies and provide reports on performance variances, project status, and changes information to project team.

  • Communicates plan changes and recovery plans to ensure commitment to stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or higher

  • 1+ years' experience in program or project management

  • 1+ years' experience working with cross-functional or cross-organizational teams to develop and implement plans, schedules, or solutions

  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Level 2: 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Level 3: 3 or more years' related work experienceor an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience developing and maintaining Earned Value baselines and status to plan

  • Experience as a Cost Account Manager

  • Experience in risk, issues and opportunities management

  • Experience developing and managing strong relationships with partners (internal & external) and government customers and representatives

  • Experience in the implementation and use of Program Management Best Practices

  • Experience developing and maintaining integrated resource-loaded project schedules, including the use of project management tools and software such as MS Project, Milestones, Open Plan Professional, etc.
